2. If you have an iPhone, you have to check out these apps for parents. (Your iPhone can act as a baby monitor! That calls you at your number of choice when it detects sound! DUDE.)
5. Victory rolls! Be sure and watch the video I posted by Super Kawaii Mama. (I’m cyber-stalking her in a mild, rule-abiding way.)
6. If this kid doesn’t make you feel all warm and fuzzy, you are an asshole robot.
Wow. Maybe there is a reason why I can’t get things written at Whoorl. Like, MY FINGERS ARE FALLING OFF. Now, if you will excuse me, I’ve got a couch and a DVR calling my name.
No time for chit chat – just lots of awesome hairstyles and of course, your votes.
Courtenay:
Courtenay’s hair:
Auburn brown
Extremely thick, very straight
Prefers hair out of eyes
Always has hair in ponytail or messy bun
Courtney, I love your natural auburn color. However, with hair this thick, I think you need to grow it longer to give it more weight. If you keep the length where it grazes your shoulders, it will always flip up and/or gravitate towards your face. Here are some options for you.
Alyce:
Alyce’s hair:
Dyed platinum blond several months ago and slowly repairing color
Very thick, tendency to frizz
Wants something “cute and short”
Alyce, I definitely gravitate towards a darker blond or strawberry blond for you. I think a shorter style would look great with your features. These would be super cute on you, but FYI, you are going to have to texturize the hell out of your hair.
Susie:
Susie’s hair:
Light brown with golden highlights
Normal to oily condition
Very thick and wavy hair
No preference for length
Uses flat iron occasionally
Loves the messy bun look
Tons of layers in hair
Susie, I like your hair with a little more length. Right now, the shorter cut combined with all of your layers is creating a little bit of a helmet-type shape. Keep growing and blending the layers – once it’s a tad bit longer, you will be able to pull it back into messy buns all the time.
Kristi:
Kristi’s hair:
Light medium brown, considering a color change
Oily at the scalp
Very fine, naturally curly
No preference for length
Cut her own layers
Kristi, I think you should go with a blond shade with a hint of red (like #1) or even blonder. (You know, to match your darling baby!)
This post is exactly what I need right now. Thanks to Amy’s comment and Joslyn’s series for giving me the idea.
1. Tom Colicchio – I don’t know what it is, but I have had several impure thoughts about this man. Very much looking forward to the Top Chef premiere tonight.
2. Retro hairstyles – I’ve always had a soft spot for 40’s and 50’s hairstyles, and I’ve recently become obsessed with YouTube how-to videos. This gal is awesome, and I just now realized that a very brief segment of her video was shown on my Nightline segment.
5. Ashley G’s Beard illustrations – I want to create a room where one wall is covered entirely in these beard illustrations. I dig a man with a good beard.
7. Twilight movie – I’m not embarrassed to admit that my tickets have already been purchased. (Picture it now…Whoorl and 120,000 14-year-olds.)
8. Hayden Harnett bag – My new birthday gift. I’m not going to lie, I don’t know if it will fully take the place of my Gray Havana Hobo, but it is a nice change.
9. Super Hopeless Romance – Although fiction, this blog has sucked me into Cordy’s vortex. GET IT TOGETHER, SETH.
10. Relish Meal Planning System – This is beyond incredibly awesome. I love to cook, but have trouble planning my weekly menus ahead of time. This system lets me choose my weekly dinners, creates a grocery list (down to specific aisles) and takes all guesswork out of the planning process. The yummy recipes are just the icing on the cake. (This week’s menu includes dishes such as Buttermilk Unfried Chicken, Huevos Rancheros, Porcini Mushroom and Walnut Penne…)
11. Backyardigans Super Spy episode featuring Cyndi Lauper – Wito is obsessed with the Backyardigans. I am obsessed with the episodes that feature my favorite 80’s musicians.
12. This video of Andrew Bird – Sorry Tom, Andrew is still my main man.
