Shampoo and Conditioner:
Beautycounter Daily Shampoo in Bright Grapefruit (upgraded formula in 2022 and it’s so good!)
Beautycounter Daily Conditioner in Bright Grapefruit
GHD Helios Hair Dryer – Dries my hair super quickly and I love the concentrated nozzle for my bangs and face layers.
GHD Platinum+ Hair Styler – Great iron for straightening and curling
GHD Curve Creative Curl Wand – This wand creates the most natural-looking waves due to its oval, tapered barrel. I LOVE IT.
Yves Durif Vented Hairbrush – the best brush for detangling wet hair after the shower
Mason Pearson Junior Mixture Hair Brush – I brush through my hair completely with this brush every night before bed
I twist my hair into a bun frequently and use 2 of these clips to pin it in place.
My skincare routine involves the following steps on a daily basis:
Cleanse, Tone, Eye Cream, Treat with Serum(s), Moisturize, SPF
In addition to my daily routine, I use exfoliators and/or masks a few times a month, but I am careful with exfoliation because too much can definitely compromise my skin barrier and lead to problems.
I have very sensitive skin and when I am dealing with bouts of dermatitis on my face, I strictly use this 4-product regimen by Avene. If you have hypersensitive skin, you might find this video to be helpful!
Face Cleanser – Foaming:
Avene XeraCalm AD Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil – This cleanser is currently my very favorite – it lathers but is actually an oil so it’s super hydrating and gentle while still removing all makeup and sunscreen. It keeps my sensitive skin so happy!
Tata Harper Superkind Softening Cleanser – Soothes and softens stressed skin without stripping it. Excellent cleanser if you are using retinoid products. The creamy texture has a micro-foam.
The Nue Co Barrier Culture Cleanser -This one-and-done treatment cleanser deeply cleans the skin, removing dirt, pollution, and makeup, without stripping or disrupting the skin’s pH. Soap-free, sulfate-free – it actively repairs the skin barrier and replenishes the topical microbiome by using prebiotics, probiotics, and postbiotics to leave your skin balanced, smooth, and nourished.
Vanicream Gentle Cleanser – When I have active dermatitis on my face, I use this cleanser to ensure I don’t cause additional irritation.
Doctor Rogers Restore Face Wash – Super soothing and infused with aloe vera and glycerin to hydrate the skin.
One Love Organics Easy Does Foaming Face Cleanser – I used this cleanser for years and years. Great in the summer and takes off all eye makeup without irritating eyes.
Face Cleanser – Balms/Creams/Non-Foaming:
Peet Rivko Gentle Cleanser – Designed for the most sensitive of skin, this non-foaming cleanser is formulated with aloe vera, comfrey, and green tea. Leaves my skin super soft and smooth.
Arcana Lightwave Enzyme Cleansing Balm – Cleansing my face with this balm is one of the most lovely experiences. It has a very subtle spicy-floral scent without any essential oils or fragrance for those who are sensitive. Great for those who can’t tolerate AHA’s in leave-in products to experience gentle exfoliation.
True Botanicals Ginger Turmeric Cleansing Balm – This cleansing balm is pure heaven. It effectively removes my makeup, sunscreen, dirt, and impurities while nourishing my skin so it’s left clean, smooth, and feeling moisturized. It’s naturally scented with Ginger Root, Mandarin, and Neroli Oils so it smells like a dream. Oh, it’s also great for redness and rosacea. OBSESSED.
Elemis Pro-Collagen Naked Cleansing Balm – A cult favorite, I was so excited when they launched a fragrance-free version.
Full review of some of my other favorite face cleansers here.
Microfiber cloths are the only types of washcloths I can use on my face. Anything else will cause irritation and swelling so these are perfect for me.
Avene Thermal Spring Water Mist – My face loves this simple mist. Before moisturizing, setting my makeup, or throughout the day…I just love it.
Twelve Beauty Ultra Revitalizing Elixir – Designed to calm and protect the skin, this is great for rosacea and sensitive skin.
Retinol Treatment Serums:
African Botanics Resurrection Cell Recovery Serum – This is my holy grail and I become slightly stressed when I run out and don’t have backup. (Full review here.) Contains 0.5% retinol plus tons of incredible ingredients – a fantastic option for beginner/intermediate retinoid users.
Maelove Stargaze Retinol Serum – An incredibly affordable retinol treatment for beginners containing 0.25% retinol. Potent yet gentle and great for sensitive skin.
MARA Algae Retinol Face Oil – If you prefer your retinol formulation in an oil, this one is for you. So impressed with this one – it works.
African Botanics Retinal Night Cream – Formulated with a creamy texture, this treatment serum contains 0.1 retinal so it’s for more advanced retinoid users. (Confused about all the different retinoid names? This post is for you.)
Maelove Moonlight Retinol Super Serum – Another very affordable serum by Maelove, this one is for more advanced retinoid users, formulated with 0.11% retinal.
Vitamin C Treatment Serums:
Maya Chia The Super Lift – 3 years in the making, Susanne from Maya Chia hit it out of the park again with this firming and rejuvenating Vitamin C serum. It brightens, firms, and makes an excellent primer…this serum is the real deal. Exceptional for sensitive skin as well. My only hangup is the floral scent (not a fan of geranium over here), but the serum is so effective, I’m willing to overlook it.
Maelove The Glow Maker – Maelove hits it out of the park again – this time with an affordable Vitamin C, E, and Ferulic serum. If you are looking for a less expensive Skinceuticals CE Ferulic, this one’s for you.
Anti-Aging Serum (without Vitamin C or retinol):
True Botanicals Chebula Active Immunity Serum – If dryness/dullness, uneven texture, and fine lines/wrinkles are your concerns, I cannot recommend this oil enough. This hydrating anti-aging serum helps fight visible signs of aging while supporting the skin barrier. My skin always looks hydrated, glowy, and more youthful-looking upon application. (Plus, it’s hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, and pregnancy-safe!) Perimenopausal skin? Run, don’t walk.
I use this twice daily – in the morning before my vitamin C serum and at night before my retinol.
Dr. Loretta Intense Replenishing Serum – Anytime my face is feeling dry (which is basically half of the year), I apply this to my face morning and night.
Facial Moisturizers – Oils:
African Botanics Fleurs D’Afrique Intensive Recovery Oil – *night only* I use this in combination with the Cell Recovery Serum and the results are very impressive. (I talk about the combo in this video.) I’ll never run out of this oil – love that it has retinol in it. #whysoexpensivetho
MARA Algae + Moringa Universal Face Oil – Packed with algae, antioxidants, phytonutrients, and essential fatty acids formulated to help nourish tired dry skin. My skin feels super nourished, clear, and very bright when using this oil.
Maya Chia Supercritical Oil – The oil that turned me onto using oils as moisturizers. Still adore it.
Pai Rosehip Bioregenerate Oil – A great oil for sensitive skin types. So lovely.
Facial Moisturizers – Creams:
Circumference Active Restorative Moisturizing Cream – This is my luxury cream. Having sensitive skin, I miss out on lots of beautifully-scented peoducts, but my skin adores this cream and it just so happens to smell like heaven. (Bright and fresh!) Not to mention Prickly Pear Seed Oil, Marula Oil, Snow Mushroom extract, and Chlorella extract – all powerhouse ingredients.
Tatcha Indigo Overnight Repair – A serum-in-cream formula, this one is super hydrating and makes my skin wickedly soft the next morning. Unscented too!
Tata Harper Superkind Fortifying Moisturizer – This is a compromised skin barrier’s dream. Will never be without this moisturizer as it’s perfect year-round.
Tata Harper Water Lock Moisturizer – Great bang for your buck. Incredible consistency, beautiful finish, doesn’t clog or irritate my skin, lovely mild citrus scent…chock full of peptides and macro hyaluronic acid. Also, It is engineered with a sustainable refill system to reduce overall waste. A recyclable refill pod locks into the refillable Water-Lock jar.
True Botanicals Moisture Lock Overnight Mask – Even though it’s called a “mask,” there’s no need to rinse it off as it feels like a night cream and absorbs rapidly. Simple, unscented hydration. Watch it transform my dry patches here.
Kate Somerville Delikate Recovery Cream – Great option when you need hydration for delicate skin. (It has worked wonderfully on my PD-prone skin.)
The Nue Co Barrier Culture Moisturizer – This lightweight moisturizer repopulates the topical microbiome, protects against pollution, and locks in moisture. My skin feels firm and fresh after using.
Avene Soothing Eye Contour Cream – My eye area is very prone to irritation, swelling, and redness. This godsend of a product keeps my eye area soothed, hydrated, and plump without any stinging or eye-watering.
Twelve Beauty Rapid Eye Treatment – Lightweight, moisturizing, no scent. Great for sensitive eyes.
Josh Rosebrook Vital Balm Cream, Unscented – This is just so lush and soothing and hydrating and calming. A++
Jones Road Miracle Balm – I dab this on during my makeup application and it makes my skin look gorgeous. I have three different shades, but Dusty Rose is my favorite.
I occasionally have bouts of perioral dermatitis and when that occurs, I switch up my entire skincare routine. My routine and best picks for PD can be found here.

Blissoma Photonic SPF 25 – Amazing. Perfection. Full stop. My daily go-to 100% mineral sunscreen.
Kinship Self Reflect SPF 32 – Lightweight, sheer, moisturizing. Gives me such a healthy glow. Love!
Elta MD UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46 – This is a perfect everyday chemical + physical block sunscreen that absorbs well, doesn’t leave any sort of weird film on your face, and is especially great for those with acne, rosacea, and hyperpigmentation.
My Favorite Sun Hats:
Dark Circle/Puffy Eye Erasers:
Honest Hazel Eye Gels – Puffiness be gone! These things are miracle workers – I always use in the morning before a shoot or an event!
Doctor Rogers Restore Lip Balm – This is a full-on hydrating, cushiony lip balm in a chapstick form. Love!

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask – Been a favorite for years!

Twelve Beauty The London Mask – Silky texture that never dries down and balances my skin so well.
African Botanics Mineral Cleansing Mask – Great for clarifying and refining the skin without drying it out.
True Botanicals Detoxifying Pacific Glacial Clay Mask – Great for purifying and softening. This and the African Botanics Mineral Mask are the only two clay masks I can use without my face becoming tight and red.
My favorite mask brush: LILFOX Brush
Some of my favorites are by Ellis Brooklyn.

David’s Premium Natural Toothpaste in Peppermint
Sunscreen for Body:
On most days, I apply my sunscreen + Rituel de Fille concealer just where I need it. I rarely wear foundation all over. However, I do enjoy these foundations/tinted moisturizers.
Urban Decay Hydromaniac Tinted Hydrator Foundation – Urban Decay is not a brand I use often, but when my skin is super dry and sensitive in the winter, this is one of the few foundations that makes my skin so happy. The combo of Marula oil and a kombucha filtrate keeps my skin hydrated all day long.
Saie Slip Tint Tinted Moisturizer SPF 35 – So pleasantly surprised by this tinted moisturizer! I didn’t have the best experience with Saie’s regular SPF (too shiny) so I was really happy to see how well this tinted moisturizer worked on my skin. I wear shade 3 and it leaves a very natural finish on the face….just slightly dewy. I really love it.
Exa High Fidelity Foundation – Semi-satin finish and totally buildable. 43 shades too! I wear Katey 440 but can wear most shades in the mid 400 range as the pigments are very adaptable.
Kjaer Weis Pressed Translucent Powder – My daily go-to in the t-zone. A lovely soft finish on the skin.
Rituel de Fille Ethereal Veil Concealer – I will never be without this concealer in the shade Metis. Super creamy and blendable and looks downright lovely on the skin. Can be used as a foundation with a satin-matte finish. Watch me applying it here.
Jones Road Miracle Balm – I dab this on during my makeup application and it makes my skin look luminous and natural. I have three different shades, but Dusty Rose is my favorite.
Rituel de Fille Rare Light Luminizer – These have been in my makeup bag for years. The most unique shades I’ve ever seen. I’m partial to Phosphene, Solar Flare, and Ice Bow.
Minori Cream Highlighter in Champagne – Such a beautiful natural, luminous finish.
Jones Road Lip and Cheek Sticks – My fave of 2022 already. I love English Rose, Bright Coral, and Rosy Brown.
