My skincare routine involves the following steps on a daily basis:

Cleanse, Tone, Treat with Serum(s), Moisturizer

In addition to my daily routine, I use exfoliators and/or masks a few times a week when time permits. My most recent morning skincare routine is here and my evening skincare routine is here.

Here are my favorites in each category.

Face Cleanser:

One Love Organics Easy Does Foaming Face Cleanser – Words can’t express my feelings for this cleanser. I use this every night to cleanse my face (takes all my eye makeup off without any irritation at all and I’m a contact lens wearer). I love this so much I buy this in the jumbo size which lasts forever!
African Botanics Baobab Clay Cleanser – Use this in the morning to wake up my face
Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser – Great exfoliating cleanser

Cleansing Oil (I double cleanse with an oil sporadically):

Countertime Lipid Defense Cleansing Oil – I LOVE this cleansing oil because it rinses clean with water only, which is rare for oil cleansers.

Full review of all of my favorite face cleansers here.

Favorite Face Washcloths: MUN Organic Face Towels (reviewed the MUN line here)

Favorite Cleansing Sponges: Appearus Compressed Sponges (these are awesome for single-use – add water and they expand)

MUN Anarose Toner – Use every day and night. A lovely no-frills toner, always have some on hand! Review here.
African Botanics Rose Treatment Essence – This comes in a pump, not a mist. (I do prefer mists overall, but this one is great regardless.)
True Botanicals Calm Nutrient Mist – So soothing for rosacea-prone skin, instantly calms my skin (reviewed the True Botanicals line here)

Facial Serums:

African Botanics Nutritive Molecule Serum – Expensive but an antioxidant powerhouse! I use this every morning after toning and it keeps my skin looking clear, bright, and evenly-textured. Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Ferulic Acid, Tannic Acid, Niacinamide, Superoxide Dismutase, Resveratrol, Green Coffee
Bluh Alchemy Multi C Serum – Another great Vitamin C serum, but significantly less money than the Nutritive Molecule Serum
African Botanics Resurrection Cell Recovery Serum – My holy grail retinol! (Full review here)
Beautycounter Counter+ Overnight Resurfacing Peel – An overnight exfoliating serum – I use this instead of the above retinol a few nights a week. Great price point for the results!
Kypris Antioxidant Dew – A must-have for parched skin. Ultimate hydration – this plumps my skin right up in the morning.
MUN Aknari Brightening Youth Serum – always in rotation (reviewed the MUN line here)

Facial Moisturizers – Oils:

African Botanics Fleurs D’Afrique Intensive Recovery Oil – I use this in combination with the Cell Recovery Serum at night and the results are so impressive. (I talk about the combo in this video.) I’ll never run out of this oil – love that it has retinol in it. #whysoexpensivetho
Le Prunier Plum Oil – My #1 oil for last-step hydration in the morning. 8x more powerful than Argan oil and 6x more powerful than Marula oil in protecting the skin from damaging free radicals! The scent is soooo addictive.
Indie Lee Squalane Oil – Ideal for sensitive and acne-prone skin. This is such a great oil for the price! At 32 dollars, it’s SO much bang for your buck.
Maya Chia Supercritical Chia Oil – Good price point and super hydrating! A great starter oil. (full review here)

Facial Moisturizers – Creams:

Beautycounter Tetrapeptide Supreme Cream – the ultimate in night creams. Reduces fine lines and wrinkles, firms and tightens, so hydrating
True Botanicals Moisture Lock Overnight Mask – Even though it’s called a “mask,” there’s no need to rinse it off as it feels like a night cream and absorbs rapidly. Love this to lock in moisture. Unscented too!
Indie Lee Active Oil-Free Moisturizer – So great for combination skin!

Serums I use for specific issues are listed here.

Facial Treatment Pads: Indie Lee Daily Gentle Daily Peel Pads

Vitamin C Treatment (Powder): True Botanicals Vitamin C Booster (you can add this to your serums and oils – reviewed the True Botanicals line here)

Retinol Treatment: African Botanics Resurrection Cell Recovery Serum – I become slightly stressed when I run out and don’t have back up (full review here)

Vapour Velvet Glow Foundation – This is a new foundation by Vapour and I adore it. It has a lovely finish that looks good on mature skin. (Doesn’t seep into fine lines and/or wrinkles or look patchy.) The finish is soft and demi-matte – not overly dewy which is fantastic!
Inika Organic BB Cream in Nude – This is an easy, light coverage that I’ve been wearing for years. Subtly covers imperfections but your skin shines through. Review here.
Ere Perez Oat Milk Foundation – I really like this formula, but the limited shade range doesn’t suit my skin tone.  (Too warm for me.) This is definitely a dewy finish, if that’s your thing. Review here – really hoping Ere Perez comes out with more shades.
