My (Pre) Probiotic of Choice

In terms of probiotics, I’m definitely one of those types that tend to switch it up every now and again and The Nue Co PREBIOTIC + PROBIOTIC has officially been my probiotic of choice for long enough to give you a full review. This product had been continually crossing my radar since it’s The Nue Co’s #1 bestseller and you know I’m no stranger to The Nue Co supplements…I use many on the regular. (Here’s my lineup, if you are interested.)

Up until I started using PREBIOTIC + PROBIOTIC, I only took a probiotic but quickly came around to the benefits of taking a prebiotic as well. Let’s take a look at how the two work together.

FEEDS + FERTILIZES GOOD GUT BACTERIA

Prebiotics are essential for feeding the good bacteria in our gut, ensuring it is a healthy and diverse environment before adding other microbes (probiotics). Think of a prebiotic as fertilizer for your gut. Taking a probiotic without a prebiotic is like trying to plant a flower in bad soil. Without a healthy foundation, it will wilt and die. #cuesadviolin

HELPS COMBAT SYMPTOMS OF IBS

This formula is designed specifically for people with IBS (the most common gastrointestinal complaint) to help reduce bloating, regulate digestion and keep your bathroom habits regular. The Nue Co uses a well-studied strain of probiotic bacteria in the formula called Bacillus Coagulans, which has been proven to support those suffering with IBS. The spores in each capsule lie dormant until they reach the small intestine. Once activated, they begin to multiply, creating more and more good bacteria in the gut.

SUPPORTS GUT, SKIN + MENTAL HEALTH

Your gut is connected to mental and physical health. Experts call the gut “the second brain” because it’s hard-wired to our mind through millions of nerves. Up to 75% of serotonin is made in the gut, one of the key “happy hormones” in the body responsible for a good mood. The gut is also connected to the skin through the gut-skin axis and can signal when there are changes in the body. In short: the gut is the center of your body’s ecosystem, and keeping the microbiome nourished with good bacteria is essential to all-around health and wellbeing.

IMPROVES IMMUNITY

Up to 80% of our immune system lives in the gut. Your gut has a certain amount of space for bacteria, and that bacteria needs to be kept in a positive balance. So the “good” bacteria always outweighs the “bad”. When probiotics are ingested and reach the gut, they can crowd out the bad, pathogenic bacteria (the ones that could lead to disease and illness). Here, they can thrive and multiply, keeping the immune system healthy and functioning.

This particular formula delivers 15 billion spores per dose (2 pills with water AM or PM) and is free from fillers, bulking agents, flavorings, colorings, and sweeteners. Non-GMO. Gluten-Free. Dairy-Free. Vegan. (All the things.)

My Personal Experience

First things first, as a person who’s dealt with GI issues in the past, I have to say…my stomach has just been so calm while taking this supplement. No GI drama, you all. Just a happy lil’ gut and this gal is not complaining. (One major difference has been in regards to bloating. I was really struggling with bloating for a bit and now I rarely deal with a bloated stomach. It’s uncanny, really!)

Another difference I’ve noticed is in my skin. Now, there are a lot of moving parts (and products) when it comes to my skin, but I will say it also has been calmer in 2022. We all remember 2021, right?

All in all, calm would be the word I would use in regards to my body’s response to this product, and in this day and age, honey, I will TAKE IT.

Last but not least, I love that I can take Pre + Pro first thing in the morning with water on an empty stomach without any sort of irritation or funky stomach – that’s definitely not the case with many supplements for me.

I highly recommend this pre/probiotic if you are looking! As always, feel free to leave any questions in the comments!

Maya Chia Super Naked Face OIL is the MVP

Oh, how I’ve been waiting for this day! The Maya Chia Super Naked Face Oil has launched to the public, and let me just say…this has been a labor of love for myself and the founder of Maya Chia, Susanne.

Okay, by “labor of love,” I mean Susanne steadfastly worked on multiple versions (for over a year!), sending said versions my way, only to have me respond with a bevy of additional requests.

What can I say, I’m ridiculously picky. #sorrynotsorry

But! This is why I can say to you with the utmost confidence that this oil is going to blow your mind. It’s perfection and I use it in so many ways. So let’s get into it.

If I’ve learned anything during my skincare adventures, it’s that you have to get AHEAD of dryness/sensitivity. Now’s the time to buy my skincare godsend so you’re ready for the inevitable skin freakout during the colder, drier months. #youwillthankmelater

Speaking of sensitive skin godsends, these 4 saved my face last year.
