I started a new writing job in January. (It’s my dream job! I love it so much! Website isn’t launching until this summer! Annoyingly vague!)
I’ve designated one full, uninterrupted, nanny-to-the-rescue day a week to writing and filming videos for the job, and so far, it’s been great. However, as I was approaching a deadline a few weeks ago, I lamented to D that I wasn’t feeling particularly inspired that day.
And then I looked at my surroundings. I was a pajama-clad bedhead sitting amongst papers, random magazine clippings, and a laptop ON MY BED. At 10:30 in the morning. Inspirational? Not so much. That evening I declared to the family unit that I Needed An Official Workspace.
Interior designer husband to the rescue! I did a little “shopping” (a.k.a. traipsing around the house while pointing out items I wanted for My Official Workspace…sometimes it pays to marry a “collector of treasures” is all I’m saying…), and voilá! My completely colorful and inspirational workspace.
Happy happy joy joy.

And what a cheerful space to work in — I really love the combo of the green chair / shiny yellow desk.

March 9, 2011 at 12:54 pmOhhhhhhhhh, that’s the most beautiful workspace I’ve ever seen! Can D come and do mine? You need a vacation to San Francisco, right?!

Mine’s a corporate Starbucks guy, so the free coffee perks come in handy too =).

Holly – I have an idea. Dustin and Sean can work together on your space while child wrangling, and you and I can spend the day shopping and chatting! Sean likes kids, right???

March 9, 2011 at 8:03 pmLove it! Also, not to sound like a stalker or anything, but ever since you moved I’ve wondered how you two have decked out your new place. I felt like we saw so much of your old house and I’m a visual person so I just wonder where Wito’s cars hang out and where all of D’s mid-century furniture is!
