Whoorlita’s Weekly Wardrobe

Lately, Wita feels very strongly about a few things.

1. A goodbye doesn’t count unless a kiss, hug, and verbal confirmation of the act of leaving is acknowledged via intense eye-to-eye contact. (Seriously, don’t ever attempt a half-hearted hand wave with this girl.)
2. Only a very weak individual allows another human being to help buckle their seat belt, even if it takes 20-30 minutes to make it happen.
3. Before bedtime, you must, simply MUST, choose and display your outfit for the next day. THE GOLDEN RULE, PEOPLE. Outfit. Laid out. End of bed. The end.

Wita’s absolutely obsessed with choosing her outfit the night before (ALL BY HERSELF, thankyouverymuch), but what gets me is the care and conviction she demonstrates while dressing herself in the morning. She never exits her bedroom until she’s fully dressed and ready for the day. Forget lounging around in your pajamas with this one-  at 6:50am, I’ll hear her doorknob click, and there she’ll stand – coiffed and ready to go.

So when I decided to start documenting these outfits, I wasn’t sure how she would react. Well, as you are about to witness, she has no qualms with posing for the camera. Future Fashion Bloggers of America, methinks? Without further ado, I give you Whoorlita’s Weekly Wardrobe.

Very adorable and accomplished mix and matcher. Lots of potential for further combos with just the items pictured! Does she help with the shopping too?

Of course! We are also very lucky in that we receive a lot of hand-me-downs from family and friends. Keeps our shopping to a minimum, which is a good thing!

So cute! My daughter went through a similar phase several years ago but she was very Punky Brewster in her clothing choices. Hilarious and adorable! It’s so fun to see their personalities and tastes developing.

This is beyond adorable. She has great fashion sense (I would totally wear her outfits) and her posing so happily to show off her outfit is the icing on the cake.

What an absolute DOLL! In contrast, my 3 yo has picked football jerseys as his top of choice. Team doesn’t matter. We have given in to this and have found some good deals on second-hand ones so at least he can be in CLEAN clothes every day. Shorts on bottom, preferably the ones he wore to bed the night before.

Why does that toddler have better shoes than me

  • Lori

    January 21, 2014 at 7:11 pm

My kids have three pairs of shoes each – sneakers, church shoes and snow boots. Your daughter has more shoes than me. She is adorable and looks so cute and happy. The poses a great. But, I have a feeling her clothing budget is bigger than mine.

We are really lucky in that the majority of Wita’s clothes and shoes are hand-me-downs from friends and family!

Oh my goodness, Jacob does the same thing with goodbyes! It always ends in tears if the goodbye is not said properly, in order.

Now if I could get him to get dressed without a lot of coaxing, that’d be great.
