Grace in Small Things: Part 16 of 365

16 measly GiST posts since January? It’s April, for goodness sake. This must change immediately.

1. The wild chickens roaming everywhere in Kauai – parking lots, sides of roads, beaches, etc.

2. Reconnecting

3. Lappert’s Luau Delight (coconut sorbet swirled with passion fruit sorbet)

4. Catching up on Lost episodes while Wito sleeps

5. Tan, pedicured feet

I’ll Miss You, Kauai

After an incredibly long red-eye (thank you VERY LITTLE, headwinds) and a near miss of my carefully-orchestrated Overlapping Layover Plan in Phoenix, in which my saintly mother flew with Wito to Phoenix from Oklahoma City to assist in the Official Toddler Tradeoff, we’re home!

I’m sorting through six days of photos and videos and receipts, but I have tips. Lots of tips! And hundreds of photos of scenery that I won’t bore you with, I promise.

(I also never told you the results of $300 Kauai shopping excursion. 7 tanks, 3 dresses/coverups, 2 bikinis, 2 chemises (ooh la la!), 1 pair of earrings, 1 pair of sunglasses and 1 pair of shoes later…the grand total equaled $320. I lost the challenge, peeps. And I honestly could care less.)

Until then, I will leave you a photo of the best drink I have ever had the pleasure of sipping, the Lava Flow from The Beach House.

The first, but definitely not the last.

Updates – Melissa

I’ve got a few updates that I will be posting over the next week. Hooray!

Remember Melissa?

Melissa told us, “I have had it short and long and everywhere in between, both straight and curly. I love my hair chin length or shorter (and so does my husband and everyone who knows me!), but I always end up growing it out so I can pull it back in a ponytail!”

I presented two options and the results were super close, but Option #2 won by a small margin.

However, it seems Melissa wanted to try the longer hair thing before making the commitment.

It grew and grew AND GREW, and well, it was okaaay. Melissa is so cute that I don’t think she could ever look bad, but check out this choppy chop!

Shiny, healthy and truly lovely! I know the grass always seems greener, but you shouldn’t mess with a good thing. The chin length bob looks fantastic on Melissa, don’t you agree?
