Hold Me Closer, Reverse Mullet

usmagazine.com

I try to keep things on the non-snarky side around here, but OH MY GOD when I read this quote from Kate Gosselin in Entertainment Weekly, I died. Dead.

Everybody wants it. It’s work. I have very, very thick hair, so it’s not going to work for everybody. I’ve seen people come through the book line with thin hair and it’s just won’t work. My hair stylist gets calls from all across the country.

Everybody wants it? EVERYBODY WANTS IT? No no no, I do not want it. YOU SHOULD NOT WANT IT.

People, I urge you. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS HAIRCUT. To put it simply, it makes the baby jesus cry, kills kittens, you know the drill.

US Weekly has the best photo gallery ever of what celebrities would look like with Gosselin’s hair. It pretty much made my day.

Feel like you can withstand more of the reverse mullet? Check out more photos here.

THIS is the best thing you’ve ever posted whoorl. I just died, literally DIED laughing. Kate Gosselin is so full of it. Her hair is cute short, but she totally needs to ditch the weird spike with a side of a block of wood looking chunk of hair next to her face. We should get her on hair thursday, stat!

If everybody wants it than I don’t want to be part of everybody anymore. Worst.haircut.EVER. I can’t even look at it. Agreed, she is a pretty woman but seriously, the hair? not so much…

That haircut looks like something a mother would do to a child in an attempt to “fix” the cut that the preschooler had given herself. Then, of course, the real hairdresser to whom the child would subsequently be taken in desperation would cut the front super short, so that the whole head was some kind of adorable pixie ‘do. Perfect. What Kate is wearing, however, should be illegal.

Why would anyone want the back of their head to look like a duck’s butt?

She said in an earlier episode that she did her hair like this on purpose and she went to the stylist and the stylist was like, “Yeah, she totally loves her spikes,” blah blah blah. And it’s fuggo.

It is like three hairstyles in one! Too bad, because she is actually an attractive lady.

First off, @Alexandrialeigh, HILARIOUS withe the Kate Barbie comment–pomade and a conversion van! And 8 little “Kelly” dolls to accompany her. I’ll agree with everyone here–such bad hair going on. And the older Kate gets (or maybe the more money she has) she has gotten better and better looking…but the hair. Oh Lord, the hair. The hair has regressed.

I get requests for her cut from last year a lot, but everyone that I’ve talked to about this latest style thinks it is hideous and I agree! The back could be fun and spiky– go ahead and play– but the front is way too thick and does not flow well. I would texturize the front a lot more to make it wearable!

If Kate wanted some crown height, why didn’t she just Bump It??

You know…I’ve actually had a style similar to this a couple of years ago. It was more of a Punk/Goth thing and styled a bit better than the one pictured. The front layers were more graduated so it wasn’t such a drastic difference from front to back, and I have to say it looked really good! I’ve had pin straight long hair my entire life and as soon as I got my hair cut like that I had positive compliments left and right being said to me by people of all ages. I got more compliments in the 1 year I had my hair styled like that than I’ve had in the 19 years I had my hair straight, long and boring! If you’ve got the right person cutting it and they know what they’re doing, then this style can actually work for you. And also assuming you’ve got the right hair, which mine was. You have to have very thin and straight hair for it, and also use the right products.

I probably wouldn’t get it again though because it requires way too much maintenance.
