Figuring Things Out

Let’s pretend you are a therapist. I’m sitting down on the couch now.

I’m toying with the idea of consolidating back to one blog. Freelance work is hopping, the kiddos’ activities are increasing every month, and I just feel like running both Whoorl and Hair Thursday is too much. I’d love to be able to focus all of my efforts on one blog, you know?

Plus, writing about hair on an almost DAILY basis at Hair Thursday has become, well, harried. Sure, I still want to share hair inspiration or a product review or a makeover post, but why can’t I just do that here at whoorl? Remember the good ol’ days? MEMORIEEES, LIGHT THE CORNERS OF MY MIIIIIND)

Hmmm, maybe I’m just having a moment. Who knows. Do you have any thoughts on the matter?

I love the idea of ‘two for the price of one” . Bring back Hair Thursday here and do it whenever you feel inspired!

I stumbled upon your blog last year and I have to say, you got me hooked once again on Sephora. After reading your posts I would say, “OMG I NEED THAT _______ FROM SEPHORA IMMEDIATELY!! I WILL DIE IF I DON’T HAVE THAT!” And then your tutorials on hair products – I basically pull up your site when shopping. Just wanted to put that out there so you know you’ve made a difference in my hair life. And you’ve done it a natural way that comes off so pure and genuine – you don’t give off that “I’m better than you vibe which I get from other sites. (I don’t think they do it on purpose, I just don’t think they realize).

Anyhoo – I read from earlier comments about selling the site. Ok, maybe. Is there anyone you know that could take it over?

    OR

How about combining it like you said. Your makeup/hair posts can be “Whoorl for Hair Thursdays” Yay/Nay?

Don’t worry, looks like whatever you choose, you’ll have plenty supporters! Keep sharing the makeup/hair/cutethingsfromEtsyorWhateverRetailEstablishment tips!

Your hobby should not stress you out. Although your hobbies do support your life, you can’t let blogging make you unhappy. Maybe take a few months off and see how it feels? You can always come back, that’s the beauty of a free website. :)

It kinda already seems like you gave up on Hair Thursday. I wasn’t surprised at all to read this latest post of yours.

I think Whoorl is awesome, and the reader makeovers for HT were awesome. Seems to me you know your path already.

Whatever happens, I know it’ll be great.

Do what’s best for you. That said, it’s because of Hair Thursday that I have my awesome hair color. You told me many moons ago to go auburn-and bam! Still love it!

I say let a good thing be a good thing in the time it was. Huh? You’re better off to let it go if it doesn’t make you happy, we blog because we love it (and sometimes that means we get to make money at it) and when it doesn’t feel fun anymore then it’s time to let it go. You wouldn’t make your kids keep going with something that doesn’t feel right anymore so don’t make yourself. You always have Whoorl to let it out should the flyaway moment strike you!

I actually have bought quite a few products (Alterna – I’m a fan of everything now and never would have found it without reading about it on hair Thursday, my HAI flat iron, Mason Pearson brush to name a few… and you introduced me to Lock & Mane – love!).

I really miss the reader makeovers, those were my favorite part of Hair Thursday. (PS – I turned in my photo like 3 years ago now. My horrid mulletesque bad haircut has grown out and is now halfway down my back.)

I think you should just occasionally post about hair as you feel inspired over here. Why not?

If closing up shop on HT means that you will blog here more, I’m all for it! I wouldn’t mind reading posts about hair on whoorl at all, but I love your other writing too. And after reading between the lines over several years, I wouldn’t mind seeing make-up/skin care posts here either. =) Do whatever feels the best for you. I’ll still be here.

I think bringing it back over here is a great idea. Plus, I sort of miss actual Hair Thursdays… Maybe if you did it once a month – like Hair Second Tuesday or something?

Regardless of what I think, you should live your blogging life the way you want! You will be a better writer because of it…

I didn’t want to be the one to tell you this… But I stopped reading Hair Thursday when Hair Thursday became Hair Mon-Fri… I love hair, and all the fun stuff associated with it, but I love all the style advice and other tidbits of wisdom you have to offer as well. I say wrap it back up, move it on back to a Thursday piece… It was fun back then :)

I love Whoorl so much more than Hair Thursday (I have a pixie, and it just makes me jealous!) but I did FIND Whoorl via HT (hunting cute pixie-do’s), so I think you should keep it up and cross post, but only when you feel like it, so new people can find you :)

and I’m guessing you’ll get more free stuff via HT than Whoorl, am I right?

One word: merge. We’d hear from you more often and you’d be less stressed about posting. Do it for the good of your readers (and more importantly, for yourself).
