Gratuitous October pumpkin patch shots.
Apparently, Wito is one with the goats. He would have stayed in that stinky pen indefinitely, but ultimately grew tired of a crazed woman slathering him with the contents of an industrial-sized bottle of Purell every 25 seconds. (I wonder who that could have been?)
I mean, I’m all for petting a sweet little goat or two, but this?
Goat bum rush! from whoorl on Vimeo.
That gets me twitching. Local boy contracts rare Goat Flu at Pumpkin Patch! Shudder.
Anyhoo. We rode in wagons.
We learned about the farm.
We looked at hundreds of pumpkins.
Yet we weren’t able to LEAVE WITH A PUMPKIN because the minute we made our way towards the actual pumpkin patch, SOMEONE threw an astronomical tantrum in a wheelbarrow. Dear Pumpkin Patch, I guess we’ll be back soon! I bet you can’t wait!
Damn three-year-olds and their attitudes.

October 5, 2009 at 8:52 amThat’s a great farm. My parents live near there and my kids and I have done their summer watermelon tour and strawberry picking. Looks like you had a great time (til the end, anyhow).

October 5, 2009 at 9:44 amHe´s so cute! If I look at these pics I cannot believe he throws tantrums.
But I´ll take your word for it.

October 5, 2009 at 11:55 amThese pictures (and that video!) are so great. I totally went to a pumpkin patch this weekend, too! Not to play with goats, per se, though I did pet a donkey. Mostly I’m addicted to hot cider and pumpkin pie. See also: I adore fall.

October 5, 2009 at 1:03 pmWhen I was growing up, one of our most prized family snapshots was of my then three year old sister sitting in a little pedal car at the petting zoo, with a goat standing with feet on either side of the car, straddling her.
The photo was prized because we all knew that a split second after that photo was snapped, the goat peed right on her head.

October 5, 2009 at 3:12 pmWhat a great post! ‘ve missed these type of fun updates! Kudos for letting your kid get loved on by many goats. We took our boy to see some goats this summer and I was a little scared of them.

October 6, 2009 at 8:10 amOverzealous goats are the best reason for fall. That, and pumpkin scones. And adorable three-year-olds. Especially three-year-olds in blog posts, where the screaming is muted.

October 10, 2009 at 12:13 pmHA! That video totally made my life complete! I love that he was totally chilling with the goats and wasn’t scared that they would eat his face or anything. (I vaguely remember freaking out when I was a wee child when even a duck came within my general vicinity.)
Such sweet photos, though! Makes me want to go pick out a pumpkin somewhere other than Vons. (Or the plastic ones at Michaels, because I’m ghetto.)
PS: Your family is too sweet for words.
