Color Me Happy

We are this close to finding out about our new home. THIS CLOSE. See my forefinger and thumb pressed so closely together and my squeezed shut pirate-looking eye?

D has been swamped with nothing but realtor, owner and contractor meetings for the past week or so. SO MANY NEGOTIATIONS. And guess what, y’all? WE’RE NOT EVEN BUYING THE HOUSE. This is all for a rental! A totally rad 60’s modern rental that is begging for our tender loving care, that is.

(I must confess, though. We have made a shit ton of requests of the owner, but it looks like he just might honor all of them. New stainless appliances! New window coverings! New plumbing fixtures! New kitchen countertops! Man, it PAYS to be hitched to an interior designer, is all I’m sayin’.)

In order to keep my mind from spinning out of control, I just spent the past two hours creating this.

combo

What’s that, you ask? Well, DUHHHHH, it’s your favorite color combinations from this week’s post! I mean, HELLO PEOPLE. Obviously, this image is crucial to all of our lives! I bet you’re now wondering how you even lived without it. You can thank me later.

Now, go forth and create new outfits and home accessory enhancements.

(I obviously will do ANYTHING to keep from over-thinking this whole house situation.)

Keeping my fingers crossed for the house! When you get it (notice how I said WHEN and not IF), you should print this out and frame it and hang it in the kitchen. (Uh, I mean your color combination palette. Not my comment.)

Sarah that must have taken some serious effort, thank you! I’m totally printing one out for my closet and another for the fridge. Here’s hoping these lovely dots inspire new outfit ideas and help me finally decorate this house. In which we have lived for almost three years. Oy.
Good luck with your new abode, I’m sure you will get good news soon, keeping my fingers crossed until then!

I love light pink and heather grey, back in the 80’s and now. Oh and salmon and teal, perfect for summer.

When we bought our house two years ago it took 6 months to close the deal and by the time we got the key we swore it was the last time we’d ever move. And I still feel that way…So I guess what I’m saying is good luck, and make sure the house is just right ;)

We’re renovating our house right now and I know we must have painted the living room 19 different colors before deciding on BM’s Silver Fox. It’s gray!!! I figure since I love all colors so much it was simply too difficult to choose and gray will go with any accessories I decide to place around. But now choosing the color of those accessories to play off of the gray, well, urgh…that’s tough.

I want to start by saying I have never commented here before BUT I adore your blog. You are so cute and extremely witty!

I recently bought a house in a suburb outside of New York City after having lived in the City for a very long time and I get nauseous when I get the daily house listings emailed to me from my realtor who is now a dear friend (that’s how long we looked!). I am excited for you to be settled and happy in your new home and congrats on your pregnancy!
