Another Rockin’ Tuesday Night

As I sit here on the couch, drinking wine and watching TBS reruns of Sex and the City, I have to admit I luh-huved Aidan. Of course, the new and improved Aidan (not the scraggly Aidan from days of yore).

Remember the episode when he and Steve had the grand opening party for their new bar? And he and Carrie run into each other outside the back door? And he’s smoking a cigar? And he looks so HOT? And he feeds her cake?

MY GOD I LOVE IT.

My only real objection to the fact that Carrie ends up with Big is that he’s the archetypal “dangerous guy”. He’s the kind of guy that women try to tame with the device called THE LOVE OF A GOOD WOMAN. And it never works.

Carrie dates some quirky guys along the way and a permanent relationship with any of them would mostly demand that she marginalize herself for their feelings, ego or career.

Aidan is the good guy, and his presence in Carrie’s life allows us to see that she’s capable of being “the wrong woman” and of hurting other really good men. Only then is she ready to close the door on the Russian and…uh…be willing to take Big back into her life. Hey…maybe it was never so much about what Carrie was ready for as it was what we, the viewers, were ready for. Hmmm.

I thought I was the only one that loved Aidan instead of Big (who I also liked). Aidan had that voice and that hair and was just so nice.

    Yummy!

I know just what you are saying. TBS aired Carrie’s final break-up with Aidan. I have to say, that episode pisses me off! The guy loves her and she continually dumps all over him! How about that episode when he bought her a new laptop? UGH! I get all irate and my husband reminds me that it’s just a show…
