Wedding Season is Upon Us

I’m attending a wedding in Cabo San Lucas over Memorial Day weekend which thrills me to no end. I mean, duh, it’s Cabo San Lucas, and it’s been quite awhile since I visited. (Cabo used to be a frequent destination for my family, and hoo boy, do I have stories. Near-death experience 40 feet under the ocean? Check. Drunken escapades galore? Check. Bad decision making? HAHA, CHECK. Alas, not today. Over drinks, perhaps?)

So! Cabo San Lucas, YAY. Procuring wedding-appropriate garments for Cabo San Lucas, BOOOOO.

I know, I know. Me? Not looking forward to shopping? Bizarre…but it’s just that I never look forward to buying new cocktail/wedding-type dresses because I know, despite telling myself differently and SWEARING THIS TIME IT WILL BE DIFFERENT, I’ll wear them once and only once. Return on Investment? Not really happening with the fancypants dresses. Am I the only one who feels this way?

Nevertheless, I’ve spent mucho time looking at possibilities online, and here’s what I’m loving. For now.

Methinks this might the perfect time to try out Rent the Runway. Has anyone used them before? Thoughts?

Before I even got to the end of this post I was yelling “Rent the Runway!” I pretty much strictly RTR for weddings these days, as I don’t have much use for formal dresses in my day to day life, and there’s often overlap amongst guests at these events, so yeah. Plus, I could never justify buying a $700 Halston dress, but will happily pay $75 to rent one. I’ve had nothing but good experiences with the company. The customer service associates are really helpful, and with the free second size option, I’ve never had an issue with fit. One time I did end up ordering two dresses that I just didn’t really love once on, and the associate who took my call guided me to two replacements, which they then overnighted to the hotel where I was staying before I’d even sent the two I didn’t like back. Nothing but love for RTR! Good luck! You will of course look great no matter what you wear!

For those prices to wear once??? Use RTR! This is where TLBD (The Little Black Dress) comes in handy. My brother is getting married in September, and I already know the style I want. I haven’t been to an wedding in years, so I am going a little dressy. I have the shoes and the clutch and just need to head to David’s Bridal for the dress. I plan on using this dress as a Christmas party dress as well.

There is something vital about a new dress for a destination wedding. Period.

I was so stressed because in June I am going to my best high school friend’s wedding. She is an actress in LA now (on Mad Men, Pete’s secretary) and is marrying a big music producer so it is going to be pretty amazing with lots of hip guests. STRESSFUL!! I was also on a really tight Budget.

I found this jumper at Loehmanns for 80% off. It’s from a little while ago, but it is amazing and makes me look like I am 5’9″.

I love Rent the Runway! It is seriously a service that I can not go without! Sign up for the site and they usually send a code for $20 or $25 off. I might even have a code right now if you want it!
