Well, hello there! We’re finally back to our regularly-scheduled Hair Thursdays.
Except that, um, we’re not. Don’t worry, voting is included, but this one isn’t going to involve much writing.
You see, we are leaving on vacation early tomorrow morning and I haven’t started packing.
(Did I mention that our vacation involves a 14-hour road trip? With a toddler? And that I ENCOURAGED THE ROAD TRIP? “No honey, let’s not fly. We always fly. Let’s take a road trip! Where’s your sense of adventure?! Wito will love it, I’ll love it, we will ALL LOVE IT.” Famous last words, I’m sure.)
Let’s get crackin’, shall we?
Light mousy brown, gets auburn highlights. Happy with color.
Wave pattern is wavy on top, underneath is stick straight
Open to all lengths beside super short
Uses a flat iron when straight, curling iron for waves
Looks “fuzzy” when straight
Try these options on for size:
Shoulder-length with heavier, sideswept bangs (to hide cowlick) or keep the length with less bang?
Our next participant is Heather:
Has worn her hair in this style for 15 years
Considering donating her hair – needs to take off 10 inches for Locks of Love
Works an overnight shift – would rather sleep an extra thirty minutes than style it (Amen to THAT.)
Wants to stop wearing ponytails all the time
Shiny, happy hair in need of a change. What about these options?
Keep it long with face-framing layers OR go for the gusto (and Locks of Love!)?
See you on the flip side.

One of my good friends recently cut off all of her beautiful hair for Locks of Love and it ended up looking fabulous. They cut it into a super short, 40’s looking bob. I swear she looked at least 5 years younger and I’m pretty sure the same thing would happen to Heather. Go for it~ change is good! Plus, what a great gift to give. :)

Have a great vacation, and Maria Shriver looks like Skeletor. That is all.
It’s not her best photo, but she has great hair. And Jesus Gay, I could NOT find another one of her straight hair ANYWHERE.

Abbersnail, I couldn’t help myself…
But, on a true HT note, I want to see some updates soon. I get so excited to see the changes.

Oh man, Heather REALLY needs to go with the Patricia Heaton ‘do…and not just because I’m biased about Locks of Love (I myself donated in late 2006)…it would really show off her bone structure. I could see Heather with highlights, too!

Forget Mary’s hair…Look at that home!
Kidding..(just a little)…Mary, pick #1. Heather, go for the shorter. You will love it.

can i change my vote for mary? i first voted for #1 but would now change it to #2. i think for mary’s face shape, longer hair would be more flattering.
i love the idea of long layers for heather.

The Pantene program only requires 8 inches – that’s what I did when I chopped my hair off :)

I like the idea of shorter hair for Heather, but a donation might require a bit shorter than option #2 – which would still be nice!

Heather should go for the gusto and go as short as she can stand it. If she has any length, she’ll just resort to the ponytail as a fall back. If it’s short, it takes away that net and sets you free!! Good luck, sis!

Go for Patricia’s look. When you look at that picture you see her face first because the hair is framing it nicely. With Maria’s you just look at the hair and think, “What’s with all the layers?”.

CUT IT OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What’s this “hide the cowlick with bangs” nonsense? That’s the problem with true cowlicks–they won’t be hidden and bangs are their worst enemy!
Oh, no no no. Bangs can ABSOLUTELY hide a cowlick. You just need an experienced stylist who can cut them at the right angle, the right thickness (far enough back on your head), and style properly. However, I agree that the way your particular bangs are cut will not do the job. They are two thin and wispy to disguise a cowlick.

I know Mary in real life and she is super cute and would look great with either cut, but I voted for #1.
