The Best Mascara Ever

best mascara ever

Ladies, I’ve been meaning to write this post for months. After years and years of trials and tribulations, I have found the holy grail in mascara. (And you all know I’ve tried them all, right? Drugstore, high end, what have you…have. tried. them. all.)

Are you ready?

Benefit They’re Real! Mascara.

Hands down, this is the best mascara I’ve ever used, and here’s why.

1. It does a good job of adding length to the lashes.

2. It does a bang up job of adding volume to the lashes.

3. It does not clump at all. (I DESPISE CLUMPY LASHES. Please explain to me why some people think thick, clumpy lashes are a good thing? Blech.)

4. It doesn’t feather or flake off underneath your eyes as the day goes on.

5. It doesn’t bother my contacts.

6. You don’t need a separate lash primer to get the full effect.

And, drumroll, please…

7. People ask me if I’m wearing lash extensions all the time. BOO YAH.

Yes, it’s $23 dollars, but it is worth every penny. You ladies need to heed my advice and buy some right now. (Have I led you astray yet? Listen to mama.)

For those of you balking at the price, I will tell you this. There is a drugstore version that is almost as good as the Benefit mascara. Not AS good, but pretty dang good for the price. CoverGirl LashBlast Volume. Give that one a go first, if need be. Good luck and good lashes.

I’m with Hanna. Blinc is THE BEST. I got to the point where I simply didn’t wear mascara on my lower lashes b/c no matter what I tried, it smudged. I will never ever change. Normally, I’d be tempted to try this but not since I found Blinc. I love it so much I want to marry it.

After major trial and error, I too have concluded that Benefit’s They’re Real is the best. I used to think it was Guerlain or Armani, but this smudges the least under my eyes (and I am a pretty fantastic raccoon eye maker)!

The Eye is the window of our soul and it helps expresses our feelings. But when you add some beauty application on it, it will be a total beauty of your whole personality! :D Wow! Just wow! You have a very nice eyes Sarah!

Just added it to my sephora cart. Clinique has been my go to forever but I love a good mascara so I’ll give it a shot.

On another note, browsing Sephora and looking for a good BB Cream to try out. I have fair skin, brown hair and am prone to dark spots. Have you tried any that you loved?

    Thanks!

I have yet to buy into the whole BB craze. I just don’t believe that one product could do all that. Let me know if you find one you love though!

I can attest, I thought you were wearing fake lashes. And I’m so glad we marched over to Sephora so I could get some for myself. I love it.

I oh so desperately wanted to love this…but half way through my day, it would start to flake off and leave dark specs under my eyes. But I love the way it looks on other people!

cuz … use a layer of “They’re Real” and then a layer of benefits “Bad Gal Lash” on top! “They’re Real” makes the lashes look longer and the other one makes them look fuller. its amazing!!!

I had to come back & comment on this post because I bought that mascara & now MY LIFE IS CHANGED. Too dramatic? Not more dramatic than my new loooooong eyelashes thanks to “They’re Real”!

I hate wearing mascara because of the flaking and dark under eye the smudged flakes leave. If I wear any at all I usually get something from Mother’s (something that at least I can pretend is better for me and the environment!).

So I read this and I love your makeup advice so I went for it. Not wanting to spend $23, I went to CVS this weekend – after pulling up this post twice to make sure I had the suggestion correct! There were 40 different LashBlast versions! Not really, there were only four but it felt like I had a Sophie’s Choice of 40 (let’s not even address the amount of plastic and packaging for my poor hippie heart!).

I went with Fusion (volume and length) because I thought it would be even better than Volume alone.

I put it on and it looks great, except…

The flakes under my eyes. I don’t load it up, I usually put two thin coats. I tried thicker coats. I tried brushing them out with a clean mascara brush and a cool hair dryer. Nothing is working – flake, flake, flake. By the end of the day I look like I’ve got two black eyes and black glitter!

You are the makeup guru and I you’ll share some expert advice, please! What am I doing wrong? Any tips or am I destined to have “cow eyelashes”?! A Prescriptives sales person actually told me that once stating that they were long but grew out straight, “just like a cow”!!!

Hey, GreeninOC! Well, first off, I can’t really say much about the Fusion. All of those formulas are different, so that just might flake a lot. (Lots of their mascaras do.) I would recommend getting the exact one I the link above. It doesn’t flake on me at all. Also, be sure you are curling your lashes with a curler, especially if you have “cow” lashes. (Haha, that’s a hilarious comparison.) It will work wonders!
