Spring Trench Coats (and Shopbop’s Spring Sale!)

shopbop spring trench coat sale

One of the items I’m purchasing for my Spring capsule wardrobe is a trench coat. Sadly, my Martin + Osa (remember good ol’ M+O? Rest in peace, my former lover…) trench coat bit the dust after a good decade or so, but it definitely did its time. After a few non-budging stains and the loss of a couple buttons and a wrist strap buckle thingy, I knew the time had come.

Trench coats are such a classic staple, and therefore, I’m willing to pony up. Especially since I plan on wearing it until it literally falls off my body. Above are some lookers. (Also, that maternity trench is adorable. Where was Hatch Maternity when I was pregnant?)

To help take the sting out of a new purchase, Shopbop is holding their Spring sale event starting today through Sunday March 8th.

I am dying to see what outfits you create with a trench. I have a vintage trench from BR, 15 yo, that I can love and never figured out how to wear. Please explain what makes them such a classic staple and versatile. Loving your instagram pics. Thanks!

Oh, I feel like you can wear a trench with just about anything! Can’t wait to put together some outfits next capsule. (And thanks for the compliment!)

I would totally go with that first one. The leather details make it nice and sharp.

I adore that one too, but I’m afraid I’ll tire of those details after a few years pass…

I LOVED M&O! There is actually a lot of old NWT stuff floating around on eBay (127 items today, per my saved search). I was able to replace one of my beloved tops for about $24 this year.

Hint to everyone: Goodwill is full of trench coats. Vintage ones, too. For $5.

    You’re welcome.
