Best of the Best: Ere Perez Cosmetics

Best of the Best is a series showcasing my favorite, tried-and-true, go-back-again-and-again green beauty brands. Being a beauty blogger, I’m in a constant state of flux with skincare and cosmetics, as I’m always trying new products. However, these brands are always in my rotation and are worthy of my highest recommendation.

So, I’ve been slightly holding out on you in regards to the incredibly lovely cosmetics brand, Ere Perez. I’ve been using it for months and somehow managed to not mention anything to you guys via social media. (Not really sure how I kept my mouth shut for so long, but I can do it no longer! Must share immediately!)

Best of the Best: Fitglow Beauty Lip Colour Serums

The Best of the Best is a series showcasing my favorite, tried-and-true, go-back-again-and-again green beauty brands. from top to bottom: Go, Buff, Nudie, Liv, Root

I am such a fan of Fitglow Beauty. From their Redness Rescue Cream, which is a godsend to those with redness/rosacea/sensitivity, to their Conceal + (a full coverage concealer sent straight from the undereye gods), I am so on board with the products and philosophy of this company.

However, there is one product that is legitimately coveted by yours truly. We’re talking Holy Grail here. I simply cannot live without the Lip Colour Serums.

Best of The Best: Vapour Cosmetics

Best of the Best is a series showcasing my favorite, tried-and-true, go-back-again-and-again green beauty brands. Being a beauty blogger, I’m in a constant state of flux with skincare and cosmetics, as I’m always trying new products. However, these brands are always in my rotation and are worthy of my highest recommendation.

Vapour Beauty is the first cosmetics brand I’ve featured in my Best of Best series, and that designation does not come lightly. In fact, when considering all the cosmetics brands in the green beauty realm that I adore, it wasn’t super easy to pick. However, most of the brands I love excel in one or two areas (for instance, my fave Kosas Cosmetics is all about the lips), and Vapour is one of the few brands that not only I can create an entire look with that garners compliments again and again, but these products PERFORM.

First off, a little bit about Vapour as a company. Founded in Taos, New Mexico by Krysia Boinis and Kristine Keheley, Krysia’s knowledge of healing botanicals and alchemical blending in combination with Kristine’s masterful blending of natural mineral pigments which creates Vapour’s palette of modern, classic color is a match made in heaven.

Best of the Best: MUN Skincare

mun-essentials

MUN Skincare has been a long-time favorite of mine, in fact, it’s one of the very first clean beauty lines I fell in love with early on. Here’s a rundown on my most-loved products from the line.

MUN Anarose Toner

I have used the Anarose Toner every day for over 5 years. It is truly my favorite toner out there and I can’t even begin to count how many bottles I’ve gone through over the years.

From the website:

This calming toner is essential for balancing the skin’s pH after it has been cleansed. Bulgarian Rosewater instantly soothes even the most sensitive skin. Hyaluronic acid firms the skin and provides long-lasting hydration. Willow Bark Extract contains natural salicylic acid, which removes dead cells for a healthy glow and prepares the skin to receive nutrients. Goji Berry Extract helps reduce free radical damage and provides anti-aging benefits. A combination of Rose, Jasmine and Daisy Extracts recreates the velvety sensation of petals on your skin. Effective for all skin types.

FYI – it is suggested that you spray the toner (6-8 sprays) on a cotton pad and apply to the skin, however, I just spray it directly on my face because 1) I’m too lazy to find a cotton pad, and 2) I like to break the rules, apparently.

MUN Protect + Revive Moisturizer

This moisturizer is the perfect “gel-cream” and is formulated with Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), Prickly Pear Seed Oil, Kalahari Melon Seed Oil, and Australian desert fruit extracts. This protective moisturizer improves the skin’s barrier function and increases moisture to effectively brighten while boasting anti-aging and anti-pollution benefits.

My detailed review of the Protect + Revive Moisturizer can be found here.

MUN Akwi Purifying Cleanser

mun-akwi-cleanser

The Akwi Purifying Cleanser is gentle, oil-based cleanser that sweeps away impurities and unclogs pores without stripping the skin. (It also removes the most stubborn waterproof makeup.) The pH-balanced formula is based on synergistic natural ingredients, including Castor Oil, a soothing cleanser and powerful detoxifier, nutrient-dense Argan Oil, and antioxidant Camellia Seed Oil. It leaves your skin cleansed, soft, and moisturized.

Now, I am not usually an oil cleanser kind of gal. I love oils as serums and moisturizers, but I’m more of a foaming cleanser fan. However, this cleanser really set itself apart for a few reasons. First off, it’s not just an oil, it’s creamy and opaque in texture. The smell is light and refreshing, and it rinses off with water, which is nice. Now, you can also use a washcloth with it if, say, you have waterproof mascara or something on, but I’ve found I can get everything off with a few rinses of water. (I don’t wear waterproof makeup.)

But the best part (that surprised me) was how much I enjoyed massaging the cleanser into my skin. The more I read about facial massage and facial yoga, I am learning that it is so important to stimulate blood flow to the face to combat aging and stagnation. You apply the cleanser to a dry face, and I’ve found myself spending 2-3 minutes massaging the cleanser into my face just for the benefits of stimulation.

Oh, the MUN organic washcloths are excellent for washing the face and removing masks.

Here’s a look at the cleanser on the left, and the MUN Aknari Serum on the right.

Really lovely.

MUN Aknari Youth Serum

Finally, the Aknari Youth Serum is a beautiful serum that I have loved since day one. My skin is very fond of Prickly Pear Seed Oil, apparently.

From the website:

The stunning results of this lightweight age-defying serum are due to the potency of Prickly Pear Seed Oil. Extremely rich in Linoleic Acid and super antioxidant Vitamin E, Prickly Pear Seed Oil combined with Argan Oil works wonders to smooth wrinkles, repair sun damage and lighten dark spots. The protective serum also soothes inflammation, brightens under-eye circles and stimulates collagen production. Bulgarian Rose Essential Oil aids absorption and provides a heavenly scent. In tandem, these three oils leave your skin feeling soft and looking radiant. Effective for all skin types as a day, night, and under-eye treatment.

Overall, my skin is really happy when I use MUN products. Like happy happy. It’s glowing, and I’ve had no issues with congestion or strange angry redness, which sometimes happens with other regimens.

Here’s a quick 2-minute video review I did on the products as well.

MUN is definitely one of my top 3 skincare brands and you can receive a 15% discount on all products with the code WHOORL.

2022 Best in Beauty: Skincare

You may have noticed a developing theme surrounding my favorite skincare products over the past few years – they are all about protecting, nourishing, and fortifying the skin. Listen, a little exfoliation here and there is a good thing and you know I love my gentle retinols, but if I’ve learned anything working in the beauty space for almost 2 decades, it’s this: sometimes brands sell you super powerful products that mess with your skin barrier so that more products will be purchased in the long run to repair said weakened skin barrier.

I know, I know. It’s a horrible truth.

Although definitely not perfect, I’m quite pleased with my 48-year-old skin and I believe it’s a direct result of treating it gently and protecting my skin barrier at all costs.

The following products are all the epitome of nourishment and protection and are more than worthy of a mention.
