Pilates-Infused Fitness DVDs

I mentioned last month how our family decided to join a gym, which meant saying goodbye to thrice-weekly, small group Pilates reformer sessions with my trainer, Erica Ziel. I worked out with Erica from February until December of last year, and watched my body morph into a shape that I’d never witnessed with any other workout regimen.

One of the things that inspires me most about Erica (besides her rockin’ bod) is that she is a mother of three children, ages 5, 2 1/2, and 9 weeks. In fact, Erica was pregnant with her third during most of our time together last year. Bottom line, this gal is serious about fitness, and knows what she’s doing.

Erica just released her fantastic series of Knocked Up Fitness pilates-based workout DVDs for all of you moms looking to keep fit throughout your pregnancy, as well as the postnatal period. The first one is Prenatal Core Pilates Workouts and the second is Prenatal Pilates-Infused Fitness. Both of the DVDs show moms-to-be how to strengthen and tone key muscle groups while preparing the body for labor, delivery, and recovery.

I’ve checked out both of these DVDs, and I have to say, they are great. The Core Pilates Workout DVD includes two complete workouts – a 12-minute cardio challenge and a 20-minute Pilates and Yoga fusion workout, both of which can be modified to suit your exercise level. However, I’m really in love with the Pilates-Infused Fitness DVD because it has 5 complete workouts (core warm-up, prenatal bootcamp, pilates arms, pilates legs, total body pilates) that you can mix and match however you see fit.

And while the DVDs are targeted towards expecting moms, in my personal opinion, anyone can do them. I busted out her pilates arms and legs workout last night, and ohhhh yes, I felt the burn. Hurts so good, people! If you are looking to achieve those long and lean muscles that the Pilates method is known for (pregnant or not!), I think you would definitely enjoy Erica’s DVDs at Amazon.com. Give ’em a try, and let me know what you think!

Ha ha – a quick glance at the screen and I thought this was your way of announcing you’re pregnant with No. 3!

This is great! You posted this at the perfect time for me. I’m just newly pregnant with my second and was looking for a great form of exercise for me for this time around. (I didn’t keep a good exercise routine last time.) Thank you! I’ve already purchased my combo pack!

WOW! This is absolutely perfect timing for me. I am pregnant and suffering a bit from insomnia which I think would be eliminated by working out more. But I live in Colorado and yesterday was 26 degrees and windy. Not perfect conditions for going out for a walk. I don’t mind working out at home, but Jillian doesn’t seem the way to go here. I will be buying this DVD in just a few short clicks!

Thanks so much for the recommendation, I bought it! The code didn’t work for me, though. I tried both “Whoorl10” and “whoorl10”. Oh well, I’m not that worried over it; I’m too excited to try these out!

The code didn’t work for me either. I complained to Amazon and they gave me 10% anyway.
