I am anxiously awaiting the day when I can write about my life like the good ol’ days. Remember those posts? Yeah, that was nice.
However, I’m not quite there yet. In the meantime, let me introduce you to Whoorlito, Child of the Steel Trap Memory.
A couple of notes:
1. This video was filmed in January when Wito was 29 months old. Forgive me, as I’m obviously grasping for blog material.
2. This video is also a reminder that I was a complete ass for cutting his hair off last month. Give me that precious hair back!
3. Wito memorizes books after reading them for one day. It’s uncanny and blows my mind.
4. It also makes me feel rather stupid.
5. I’ve included the words from the book so you can follow along at your pleasure. Enjoy.

a mother plays a with a babe in her lap
with eyes looking sideways a nails painted red, this woman is telling a joke in her head
and here is the artist who’s captured it all – the faces, the places, the girl on the ball.
with each stroke of his brush, each color and line, he paints a picture of a moment in time.

How are you teaching him, do you spend a long time doing these things, and do you provide visuals? Seems like your doing an amazing job!!

March 11, 2009 at 3:21 pmThank you. I have to say, he leads the way. We have always read a lot of books to him because that is what he loves when given a choice of activities, but otherwise, he consistently surprises us with his intelligence.
I definitely try to help foster his strengths, but I think we are just along for the ride. :)

Someone recently commented on missing your old blogging ways and I have to agree. I got hooked on your site because your life was fun and quirky-but real too. It seems like you spread yourself pretty thin and I hope you can just blog about your life and not what you think people want to hear. Your archives might inspire you. They are addicting!! Good luck, and I hope you don’t find this intrusive or offensive.(maybe this crappy weather is contributing to your funk–I can’t wait for the Cali weather to improve)

It’s just important for people to realize that I have always chosen to keep the majority of my personal life private. My primary focus is my family and when my family needs all of my attention, this blog is going to suffer. I can only hope that readers understand that my life isn’t always “fun and quirky”, and that sometimes I need to focus on what really matters. Which is not this blog. (Hi! I’m Debbie Downer!
