My Daily Supplements

I’ve never been a major supplement taker, mainly because I’m forgetful, but also because I remember reading that some supplements “just produce expensive urine.” True? Who knows?

What I DO know is that my body does need certain vitamins and supplementation, given some subpar results in my bloodwork. So, be sure to always check with your physician if supplementation is right for you!

This supplement regimen is very easy for me to remember, probably because I bought one of these, and yes, it certainly makes me feel old.

My Daily Supplements

The Nue Co. Skin Filter

Let’s start off with a supplement that’s ALL ABOUT SKIN. Skin Filter by The Nue Co. has been such a wonderful addition to my skincare/supplement regimen this past year.

Designed to improve sun damage, pigmentation, breakouts, and blur impurities in just sixty days, I can say that I’ve seen a visible improvement in my skin since starting in mid-2020. Tested in France under dermatological control, the patented blend of Vitamin C, Zinc, Champagne Grape Seed, and Melon is clinically proven to improve skin luminosity, pigmentation, blemishes, and elasticity.

(Also, can we just talk about the necessity of having adequate levels of Zinc and Vitamin C to keep our immune system boosted? I not only take this for my skin but my overall health, to be honest. #covid)

I’m set up with The Nue Co.’s subscription service which keeps me from running out and I’m super grateful for that because like I said, I’m THE WORST at remembering to re-order things. Also, you automatically get a 20% loyalty discount with the subscription service.

The Nue Co. Magnesium Ease

Magnesium is so important! This essential mineral is vital for over 325 biochemical reactions in the body and lack of it has been proven to negatively impact sleep quality, muscle, nerve + heart function. Seriously, migraines? Magnesium. (That comes straight from my neurologist.) Sleep issues? Magnesium? Constipation? Magnesium. Stress? Magnesium.

I LOVE The Nue Co. Magnesium Ease Spray because they pair high-quality magnesium chloride with lavender and arnica oil, which contains helenalin—a potent anti-inflammatory. Together these ingredients efficiently aid relaxation + reduce muscle tension.

I much prefer this spray over oral methods because magnesium can upset my stomach when taken in pill form.

I’ve talked about this on Instagram many times and it’s just fantastic. Smells so lovely and relaxing too – you can check out my SUPPS Highlight on Instagram to see how I apply it.

(It turns out you love the Magnesium Spray as well! Just read the comments on this post.)

Use WHOORLJUNE for 20% off The Nue Co Active range! (That includes Magnesium Ease, Probiotic Plant Protein, Joints, and Vitamin D.)

Thorne Labs Vitamin D

There are so many benefits of taking Vitamin D daily.

Naturally, my Vitamin D level is pretty abysmal (sits around 30 ng/mL when I’m not supplementing), so I take 10,000 IUs every day to keep my levels up. If you are interested in Vitamin D supplementation, be sure you get a baseline lab from your doctor before choosing how much to take. 10,000 IUs works for me, but might be way too much (or little) for you.

I choose Thorne Labs Vitamin D because I really trust their brand overall – first mentioned to me by my naturopath when I lived in California, we’ve used their products for years with nothing but good results. Dustin takes their B Complex and as well.

LivOn Labs Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C

Hello, skin health and so much more! Vitamin C is required to produce collagen, the protein responsible for firm, youthful skin as well as healthy joints, gut lining, and muscles. Plus, numerous processes in your immune system require Vitamin C to function at optimal levels – it supports antibodies, white blood cells, and your body’s natural defense system. Also, Vitamin C neutralizes free radicals (also known as reactive oxygen species and oxidative stress) to keep your cells healthy.

Skin and my immune system. My top 2 priorities, peeps.

But here’s the deal, though. Your body can only absorb as much oral Vitamin C as your limited number of nutrient transporters can carry — from the digestive system to the bloodstream, and then from the bloodstream to the cells.

Vitamin C is water-soluble, so your body can’t store any excess when it gets left behind in either the blood or the digestive system. That’s why so much of the vitamin content from pills, powders, and even foods is passed as waste. And where it gets abandoned dictates the way your body passes it.

So why LivOn Labs Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C‘s delivery system instead of just a pill?? If you aren’t familiar, it’s a packet that contains a gel-like texture that you squeeze into water and swallow like a slug. I KNOW. But I like it! I’m weird. It doesn’t dissolve so you drink the gel suspended in a little bit of water quickly like you’re taking a shot. It’s fun! Join me!

Using patented technology, this Vitamin C is in double-layered phospholipid spheres (liposomes) that protect the vitamin through the digestive system and transport it into the bloodstream for absorption in the cells. So, Lypo-C provides the benefits of high-dose Vitamin C without gastric distress. PRAISE BE.

Tons more info and studies here if you are interested, but I love this stuff.

Seed Probiotics

Oh, how I love my Seed Probiotics subscription. Not only is The Daily Synbiotic formulated with probiotic strains that have been clinically and scientifically-studied to provide benefits in gastrointestinal function, skin health, heart health, gut immune function, gut barrier integrity, and micronutrient synthesis (24 strains! 53.6 billion AFU!), it has this incredible ViaCap delivery technology (basically a capsule inside a capsule) that ensures survival through stomach acid so it can get to where it needs to go. (Ahem, your colon.)

Most importantly, my stomach is happy, bloating is reduced, and GI issues are barely an issue. Not to mention that your first month of probiotics comes in a beautiful glass refillable jar and the remaining refills come in sustainable packaging.

This leads me to the most most important part – it’s another subscription so I never have to worry about running out and then ordering refills too late and yada yada yada. Subscriptions = Compliance. I know probiotics are a personal thing so you can try the Daily Synbiotic risk-free for 30 days. (You may also reschedule or cancel your subscription easily from your account at any time.)

The Nue Co. Defense Drops

Although not daily, when I feel a little something-something going on (tickle in the throat, body aches) I always reach for these Defense Drops.

This immune-boosting liquid tincture contains a blend of adaptogenic herbs and immunomodulating extracts with naturally antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties. It always seems to do the trick.

How I Take My Supplements

I take my Seed Probiotic and Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C first thing in the morning because they are more effective on an empty stomach.

I take Skin Filter and my Vitamin D after a meal (either breakfast or lunch) – the zinc in the Skin Filter can irritate my stomach if it’s empty and Vitamin D is better absorbed with meals.

I spray the Magnesium Ease on my skin in the evenings.

Defense Drops when needed.

There you have it! As always, leave any questions or comments below and I’ll try to help out however I can.

I thought I was the only one who buys Thorne Vit. D 10,000 IU’s in bulk!! My vitamin D level was abysmal even though I was taking 5,000 IU’s a day. Much better now thanks to pretty aggressive supplementation. I’ll spare you the long story, but my Doc (and many others) don’t want to order Vitamin D tests – just remember it’s so important to be your own health advocate! After much persistence, she finally ordered one and I was able to course correct and increase my dosage. You need to understand your baseline, otherwise, it’s like driving blind.

Thinking about ordering SEED…..glad to hear you’re happy with it!! I know how important the microbiome is to good health. Thanks Sarah!

    Be well!
