I don’t need to go into detail regarding my love for the NCAA Tourney again. Um yeah HELLO, I’m a Jayhawk. But, for the love of Christo, please don’t let my boys screw it all up in the first round. Again. For the third time.
In the meantime, I’ll just revel in our sweet overtime win against that annoying ugly orange team yesterday.
Congrats to the Big 12 Tournament Champions (again) and the #1 seed – West Division.
Beak ’em Hawks!

March 12, 2007 at 3:40 pmMy husband is also a HUGE Jayhawk fan and almost offed himself last year when they blew it in the first round. He has them going all the way again this year so I will be sitting on the edge of my seat with you.
I LOVE MARCH MADNESS!!!!!!!! The time between now and Thursday is tor·tur·ous. Let the games begin already!
Jenn – I KNOW!! I’m filling out my bracket right now…I can’t WAIT UNTIL THURSDAY!!

Coming from the girl who stopped by and wanted to “hang out” during THE SUPER BOWL. Ahem.

March 12, 2007 at 4:57 pmWord. I am in a new, smaller office this year and this morning I asked a guy, “so, do we do a brackets pool here?” and he looked at me blankly. I almost cried, and then I silently printed out my lone set and wondered who I could gamble with. But alas! At the end of the day a guy from another department came around with brackets printouts and told me the pool was $5 each. Suh-weet! I think my enthusiasm frightened him.
We could SO be friends.

March 12, 2007 at 5:21 pmAwwwwww yeah. Who doesn’t love a little bracketology???
The question is, how many will you fill out? I stick to my guns with one.

March 12, 2007 at 5:29 pmPlease just tell me we’re not playing some no-name school that starts with a B, because that seems to be death to the ‘hawks. And can I just say I’m not a fan of the #1 seed? That seems to never do us any favors. Fingers crossed and braced for a good tourney…might have to dig out the old KU flag and fly it proudly for a little while!
I was just thinking about buying a flag. I did, however, wear my Kansas hat on my cardiac hill walk this morning.

March 12, 2007 at 6:39 pmI’m happy that your team made it in to the madness. Neither one of my schools could get their crap together and decided not to play basketball season. And, a rival to BOTH of my universities is #1, stupid Gators. I hope you get trampled by the Jayhawks!
Well, Kansas already beat Florida once this year. Plus, Florida barely squeaked by with that #1 seed. I predict they will be eliminated before the Elite Eight. Whoah, do I think I work for ESPN or something?

March 12, 2007 at 7:56 pmI’m just happy Illinois squeezed in. What with Bill Self’s move to Kansas, we’re just happy dance at the big game, ain’t we?
Oh wait…we were in the final game recently. Hmm. I take that midwestern UIUC alumni modesty back and I say instead, “GO ILLINI! Beat anyone you possibly can while still retaining at least a couple of the players Coach Self recruited during his short stay in Champaign-Urbana!”
Ahem.
Give me Roy back any day.

March 13, 2007 at 3:06 amOnly one bracket? Wow, you’re strong. I have 3. But I do stick with the “one and done” rule for fantasy football.
I’ll be in front of my TV with a highlighter, laptop, brackets, and a pint of Guinness come Friday with one very excitable Jayhawks fan by my side…eeek! Can’t wait!
Stephanie – Kansas has Texas A&M Corpus Christi in the first round, a #16 seed. Hopefully it’s better luck???

March 13, 2007 at 5:12 amGive you *Roy* back anyday? Who ARE you?
It is going to be a beautiful tournament. I just know it.
Speaking of Jayhawk wear…this week it is all about the “Kiss me, I’m a Jayhawk” shirt. I say if it gets us past the first round, then I will NOT take it off. that’s right.
I know, I know. Bill can sometimes give me the heebies. And it might have to do with the fact that I am in love with Roy (sans his ugly ties). Do you remember when he would jog around campus with such a cute smile on his face?

March 13, 2007 at 5:14 amDe-lurking just to say Go Gators! Love your blog, you’re too funny and you have the cutest baby ever…but I can’t say I agree with your opinions re: the tournament. Barely squeaked by??? When-oh-when will Florida get the respect they deserve (this goes for football too)??? I too love the tournament and all the talk that goes with it. Good luck with your brackets!

March 13, 2007 at 6:41 amKU already beat Florida, are we going to have to do it again?
I used to love Roy, too. Until he abandoned us. He made the choice, not I. So, now I have to hate.

March 13, 2007 at 7:49 amDid you sign up for the online pickem yet?
I want to see your skillz first hand. ;)
I do the Online Pick’em with the extended fam for cashola. I would put an entry in yours, but I’m superstitious like that…only one entry per year.

March 13, 2007 at 8:36 amI love your response to my post. You made my sucky stupid WW weigh in day (it wasn’t good). I had my boyfriend pick Kansas for the win on his bracket! Stuuuupid Gators.
I just posted about WW. WHAT IS UP WITH WEIGHT WATCHERS!? IT IS A CULT!

March 13, 2007 at 12:29 pmOh whoorl, I love you even more now! I had no idea you were a Kansas gal. I’m an Arkie myself, but hubby is a Kansan and die-hard Jayhawk fan. He was at the games this weekend and me and my 2 year old had to do the Rock Chalk chant without him. To be fair, he also knows how to call the Hogs, but this weekend was all about the Hawks! They will NOT lose the first game this year. Not possible. Not gonna happen. Must think good thoughts!
Totally random and gross, but have you ever thought Bill Self looks a little bit like a penis head? I like the guy and all, but can’t ever seem to get that thought out of my head.
