Here’s the thing about escrow. It’s so involved, right? So involved, in fact, that you kind of stop thinking about the house itself and focus on the specifics of closing escrow. Then, as you approach closing (tomorrow, woohooo!), you pretty much have a panic attack because oh my goodness, it’s our HOUSE. We are HOMEOWNERS. We are totally (fiscally) responsible for a home, and all the ups and downs that come with it. I think I’m having a little anxiety right this very minute. Excuse me for a second.
I woke up this morning and D informed me that the demo crew is showing up at 8am on Monday morning. You guys, it’s on. Although the majority of our home renovations will be cosmetic (floors, walls, removing some funky fresh wood paneling), we are doing a complete overhaul on the kitchen. Totally starting from scratch, so I thought I would share my current kitchen inspirations.
Hello, I’m Sarah. I like white kitchens.

Hi Sarah. My name is Tanis, and I too, love white kitchens. So much so, in fact, that I’m hoping to gut my kitchen and do a white one in the next five years or so. Have fun living the dream of white. Do it for those of us who are still waiting to go white.

Oh, please, do show “before” and “after” pictures. What is exciting to me is viewing a room that looks dated and awkward but watching as people who have a creative vision for the space turn it into something amazing.
The large blue vase on the shelf in the fourth picture- it looks familiar- I have it in our guest bathroom!

I love a white kitchen I’m sorta a white kitchen minus the brown granite. I might have to rip something out after your overhaul AFTER photos!

I’m so watching your reno! I actually loved my white kitchen but our cabs are defective and we need to replace them and the countertops and sink this year. Hold me! I’ll stay light for sure. White kitchens are hard to get sick of.

Oh man, I am in the same boat, only a couple weeks ahead of you in terms of timing. I lusted after that herringbone marble pattern but I won’t have the surface area to properly highlight it. So excited to hear what finishes you end up choosing!

I myself love the look of the two toned cabinets- dark on the bottom cabinets, white on the uppers. I think it looks so visually interesting while still being sophisticated! Also a huuuuuge fan of subway tiles. Good luck with the reno and looking forward to hearing about the process and seeing your before and afters!

Jealous! I love our house but while the kitchen is new and functional it is not at all my dream kitchen. I love, love, love white kitchens. Can’t wait to see your finished product! I don’t think we’ll be redoing ours for many years given the cost.

Whatever you do, definitely have that white tile back splash.
If it were me (you’re sooo lucky) I’d go with the top right. VERY pretty.

Okay, I’m officially jealous. I love white kitchens, too. But my bank account insists that I settle for a fresh coat of paint. Stupid bank account.

We are currently remodeling a 1940’s ranch house in the bay area and struggling with the kitchen… (and love white too!) Good luck with renovations! I look forward to seeing what you do.

My bestie just did her kitchen in all white with subway tile. It is the prettiest thing I’ve ever seen. I LOVE your inspiration–totally would love to live in any of those spaces! Can’t wait to see the final results. Congrats!
