In Love With Uma Oils

uma

Essential oils. They seem to be everywhere right now, don’t they? I’ve been dabbling over the past year (and by “dabbling,” I mean devoting a LOT of time and research), and I’ve come across some really great brands and blends during the process.

As you know, I’m devoted to cutting out all skincare that is even the slightest bit unhealthy. Anything with a 3+ score on the EWG’s Skin Deep website is a no-go for me. As you can imagine, giving up my beloved Olay daily cleansing cloths (bad bad bad) has been quite the challenge, but I am one determined lady. (psst – I’ve found my new dream skin wash…and you can buy it on Amazon, people! It’s amazing! Life changing! I’m in loooooooove, but that’s a topic for another day.)

When Shrankhla, the founder of Uma Oils, reached out to me a couple of months ago, I was immediately intrigued. Obviously it was right up my alley, but what got me excited was the lovely range of oils. Not only did her company create oils for the face, but also wellness oils to use synergistically. Need a boost? Try the Pure Energy Wellness Oil. Feeling a little anxious? Pure Calm is your friend.

A little bit about Shrankhla – she grew up in India, immersed in holistic wellness, yoga, vegetarianism, and the powerful restorative benefits of natural products. Moved to the US, did the MBA thing, worked her herself crazy, witnessed the toll on her appearance and wellbeing, and realized she wanted to get back to the basics of her childhood. She developed a new vision—to create a line of natural skincare and wellness products that bridged her past and her present, thus Uma was created. (Bio aside…Shrankhla is a wonderful woman who really wants to help make you look and feel great.)

So what’s the deal with the oils? First off, they are 100% natural and organic, and are grown, extracted and formulated entirely at Shrankhla’s lush family farms in Central India. The oils are formulated using the core principles of Ayurveda and Aromatherapy by experts with generational knowledge of these natural sciences.

After deciding which oils seemed right for me, Shrankhla sent some my way. (Thank you!) You all, I am SO impressed. Personally, I use the Absolute Anti-Aging Face Oil in the evenings after washing my face, and the the big game-changer for me has been the Pure Energy Wellness Oil in the morning. It really helps with my muscle fatigue, smells amazing and just gets me going. I also have samples of the Ultimate Brightening Oil that I love, and the Pure Calm Oil is blissful. I LOVE THEM ALL.

Wait. I’m sensing some of you are still nervous about using oils on your face. Oh, please don’t be! I can’t believe the positive difference I’ve seen in my face once I incorporated oils into my regimen. More info on why oils are are great for the face can be found here, but in a nutshell, your skin will start looking super hydrated and dewy, dry patches disappear and dark spots will start to fade.

Still not sure? Everything you could possibly need to know about applying, pairing, and using the oils can be found on the Uma YouTube channel. I’m loading you up on the info, I know.

Because Shrankhla is so fabulous, she is offering you 25% off all of the oils on the Uma website with the code whoorl. She’s never given a discount of that amount before, and I kind of love her for it.

I’ve been looking at incorporating more essential oils into my routine! Uma’s Total Rejuvenation and Pure Energy would be probably be the ones I’d try first.

Any thoughts on doTerra or Young Living oils? I’ve read plenty of pros & cons, and haven’t been able to find a source I fully trust! Are you using oils other than those from Uma? Thanks! :)

Hey Carmel! I use DoTerra oils and absolutely love them. In fact, I am using their oils to treat my Lyme disease, with good results! :)
