Sequins are everywhere this season. EVERYWHERE. And I’m eating it up, y’all. Unfortunately, most of the sequin garments I’ve been coveting are in the $150 to $400 range, and considering sequins are really not much of an everyday clothing embellishment, I can’t justify spending that much.
Imagine my delight when I saw this little sequin number on Gap’s website for $49.50! Knowing I had a cocktail party on the horizon, I snatched it up.
Here I am boozed up and leaving a party wearing said skirt. (Actually, I only had two drinks because I knew Wita’s 5:00am wakeup call would be brutal. Guess what? It was still brutal! I should have gotten tanked! Lesson learned, folks.)
Blouse: Isabel Lu
Skirt: Gap
Tights: Spanx, yo! Lest we forget I RECENTLY BIRTHED A BABY.
Heels: Jessica Simpson
And here I am when I suddenly heard Michael Jackson’s Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough coming from the dance floor inside. Is there a BETTER song for shaking your tail feather??? I THINK NOT.
Annnnd then another couple walked out the front door and witnessed D taking my photo while I danced around the porch.
Awkward.

November 24, 2010 at 12:40 pmI am obsessed with the j crew sequined stuff lately! Tank! Vest! Skirt! I can’t choose!
I wish Gap also made a shirt. I love the skirt, but have a lot of memories from childhood where the sequins pinched me when I sat down…

December 1, 2010 at 3:17 pmNo, not awkward. AWESOME.
I believe it’s a Cardinal Rule of Life that one someone hears Michael Jackson, that someone must dance.
(Love! the sequins, too.)
