Homeless

This photo is a perfect capture of the majority of my past week. Unfortunately, after a full investigation, our new home is riddled with mold and therefore, unlivable for our standards.

We are currently staying 30 minutes south of our old neighborhood with my cousin who has generously opened his home to our family, and my days have consisted of multiple trips back and forth between towns in an attempt to keep Wito’s school and playdate schedule intact. My car and my very pregnant belly have become quite close.

Newsflash. Not having a home is the pits. I miss my bed, I miss my routine, I miss my neighborhood and I miss not feeling completely reliant on others for a roof over my head.

Hopefully we will find a new and wonderful home very soon. Onward ho!

Oh my gosh I can’t even tell you how SORRY I am that you’re going through all of this. We were ‘homeless’ for four months because of contamination in our apartment (toxic fumes and concrete dust) SO I KNOW. And I wasn’t even pregnant!

I hope you can get your money back with all the renovations you did and I have re-tweeted that you’re looking for something.

I just can’t tell you how sorry I am that this has happened but at least you’re all safe and you found out sooner rather than later. Mold is nothing to mess around with.

    THINKING OF YOU GUYS!

What?! Mold sucks, or at least that’s what I hear. Homelessness sucks worse, or at least that’s what I imagine. And of course, these things can only happen when you’re pregnant on top of it. A better place awaits you. Hang in until.

hang in there and just pray that something even better becomes available soon. i know it must be tough, especially with the pregnancy and a toddler in tow but just take it easy and don’t overdue it. i’m sure wito won’t realize if he misses a playdate or two. right now your focus is on finding a home. good luck!!

I’m glad you were able to get out of the situation. We’ve lived all over the US and the places prone to mold were awful. I’m impressed you were able to get out from under the lease.

Still, what a disappointment as well as a massive hassle. All this and pregnant too? You have my sympathies. I hope you will be able to find a good place to live soon.

This happened when I tried to move into my current house! It’s a huge pain in the arse, but usually the landlords are quite willing to help out. Mine did, got contractors in here and ripped out the moldy bits. Good luck dear. May you have your own place again soon!!!!!

Oh no! I am so sorry for you guys, no one deserves anything like this but you guys doubly, triple-y, quadrupe-ly did not. I am so happy that you found out before anyone got sick from it – how did you find out, btw? Thank goodness for family being able to take you guys in. I really hope you guys find something else soon. Take care of yourself!

Just saw this… So sorry to hear- it must be super frustrating! Will you try to find something temporary while you look for ‘the one’, or are you just hoping that ‘the one’ turns up sooner rather than later?
