He’s All Grown Up

wschool

This very well could be one of those situations in which only I (The Mother) find a photo to be beyond precious, but WILL YOU LOOK AT MY BABY BOY’S FIRST SCHOOL PHOTO? What’s next? Drivers licenses and bershon? Pass the tissues, please.

(He inherited the flip-under-on-one-side/flip-out-on-the-other hair gene from his mother.)

Speaking of tissues, this pregnancy is sponsored by The House of Hormones. We popped into Disneyland Monday night for a quick dinner and fireworks display (god bless the annual pass), and my heart about bloody well burst from all the holiday sentiment. Shall we count the times I got teary-eyed?

1. Waiting in the Small World line. Check out my TwitPic. Isn’t it beautiful?

2. Watching Wito’s face during the Small World ride.

3. When Wito put his arms around D and I and declared, “we’re a family!” (Oh, COME ON. Your heart is made of stone if that one doesn’t tug a bit.)

4. During the fireworks and slightly cheesy Believe in Holiday Magic song. Okay, I might have experienced tears AND a lip quiver or two. WHAT? HORMONES. See for yourself.

5. When the snow started to fall after the fireworks. (Seriously. Real snow! Well, from snow-making machines, but whatever.)

6. While eating a Mickey Mouse-shaped cookie. (I’m not sure I fully grasp that one either.)

I hear you on the hormones (I’m 21 weeks along). I find myself crying everytime I hear my favoriate xmas song – the Boston Pops playing Sleigh Ride. There are NO VOCALS!! It’s a peppy number! And yet I’m a mess by the time they get to the syncopated/jazzy section of the song.

I have to respond because my tot is in a Pre-K too (but he is only 2 and 1/2). Anyway, they had school pics and I as all…GAH! LOOK AT HIM! He just looked so grown up. (well, to be fair, he’s the size of most 4 year olds…but still!) It really is a shocker to see those pics.
I was pregnant during the holidays with totbuckets and I was a hormonal mess! Do you like the movie “Love Actually”? Oh my….I was balling with my big old pregnant self while I watched it!
I love to read your blog…I still have not figured out if it is weird for people who don’t know you to comment on your blog. Like does that make me some kind of blog stalker or something? LOL!
Congrats on the pregnancy…I am tired of people asking me when we will have another!

My hair does the flip-under/flip-out too, but it looks much cuter on him.

    Oh what a sweetie!

My sister in law is in the Disneyworld choir that does shows over the holidays, I’ve never been to either of the Disney’s at Christmas but it looks amazing- I’m glad you had fun, even if it was tearful =)

Having heard your child say “we’re a family!” before, yes, it will melt even the iciest of hearts (mine). That photo is so precious.

I have that same flip thing on one side when I actually have hair. He’s growing up so fast! He just gets more adorable.

I’m almost 20 weeks and went to see the lights they put up at the zoo this week. When a bunch of trees starting flashing in time to Trans Siberian Orchestra’s Wizards in Winter I totally burst into tears.

Also, a few weeks ago while listening to Taylor Swift’s Love Story.

It’s really fun explaining to people why you’re crying in the middle of the grocery store at 10 in the morning.

Lat January we took my then almost 5-year-old to Disneyland for her first time as a surprise and I started crying when we pulled into the parking lot! I guess I was pregnant too, but I think I would have teared up even if I wasn’t!

She didn’t even really like it, by the way. (What kid doesn’t like Disneyland??!!)

I am not even pregnant (as you know), but this still made me want to cry! Maybe it’s because I love you guys so much ;-)

Oh man, I teared up just reading the reasons YOU teared up, and I’m not even pregnant. Uh, I hope. Knock on some wood.

Awww, he’s so grown up and adorable! And the “We’re a family!” is the cutest thing ever.

He is so cute! I love the things he says. “We’re a family.” He’s like your own Tiny Tim.

‘We’re a family” made my bottom lip poke out and a little, “aww,” escape. And I’ve never met this kid.

That is too sweet and adorable for words.
