Man, I’m riding this hair thing to its death. I’m just a little busier than usual, with Father’s Day being yesterday and D’s birthday tomorrow.
Yesterday, an impromptu mini-block party erupted on our lawn complete with pear vodka. PEAR VODKA, I SAY! Has anyone had the pleasure of sipping on a little pear vodka? My neighbor put the hard sell on me – I’m not usually a flavored vodka drinker, but I finally caved in. And might I say, delicioso! So light and refreshing!
5 hours later, after strollering under the influence to the grocery store, I made rather tasty chipotle blue cheese burgers alá Rachael Ray. (Have I mentioned I’ve bought several of her cookbooks now? Why does she have to be such a good cook? I think I love her.)
Must go create tomorrow’s birthday menu. Oh yeah – if you haven’t sent a photo yet, WHY NOT?

June 18, 2007 at 6:40 pmHi,
I would love to send a photo, because my hair is naturally very very blonde, and it can be quite nice and shiny, but I have pneumonia and don’t remember the last time I washed, nay, BRUSHED my hair. I truly believe that if you saw a photograph of me in my current state you’d poke it with a stick while clutching Anders to your chest, and hiss “PSSSS! GET AWAY, CREATURE!”
I’ll send a picture when I don’t look like some kind of woodland fairy sprite anymore .
Luisa.
Wow, pneumonia! Get better soon!

June 18, 2007 at 8:27 pmCan’t stand RR, but I have to admit she comes up with some creative easy meals. I can never cop to using her recipes when cooking for the husband, he has an even stronger dislike for her than I do and may just go as far as to not eat the meal if he knew I snuck one of her recipes onto his plate.
Pear vodka sounds so good, what kind of drinks were you all having?
Photo coming–pictures are on the ‘real’ computer which has been out of commision while we do a home makover.
Grey Goose Pear and tonic. Lots of calories, but soooo worth it.

June 19, 2007 at 5:07 amOh, there you are, thank God. I was getting scared of the amount of work I was actually doing…at work. I felt so alone.
I need to remember to take that picture…

June 19, 2007 at 5:11 amAnn Curry had preeclampsia.
I tell you this because I had preeclampsia, and it sucked, like, REALLY REALLY SUCKED and it made me think for a brief nanosecond that perhaps I might have a wee bit of sympathy tucked deep in my soul for Ann Curry and the hell she must have gone through as well, but then I thought better of it.
That woman makes me want to kick in the TV screen each and every time she’s on it.

June 19, 2007 at 7:25 amWhoa. Whoa. Whoa.
You can combine chipotle and hamburgers?
What the hell have I been doing with my life?!

June 19, 2007 at 8:08 amI watch 30 Minutes Meals every day on my lunch break. I just do it because I have the tendency to talk back to the TV and it’s so easy to make fun of Rachel and get out the day’s aggression. God my lunch hours are so lonely…

June 19, 2007 at 7:40 amI don’t watch either of those ladies much; but this I know, Rachel Ray’s voice totally grates on my nerves. I couldn’t believe that she got a TALK show.
Anyhoo, the Pear vodka sounds delish. I’ve just discovered Pomtini coolers, which I think will be my vice over the next few months.

June 19, 2007 at 10:36 amWe are SO making those burgers. I’m all over anything with blue cheese!
I know Rachael Ray SHOULD bug me, but she doesn’t. I know, I know. I wouldn’t say I love her, but I can watch her and not want to punch her in the boobs. High praise, I tell you.
Also, pear vodka and tonic? Holy shit, that sounds delicious! Can I tell you how much I love being back home and seeing that all the drug and grocery stores have liquor aisles? Ahh, California. Why did I ever forsake thee?

June 19, 2007 at 11:18 amHi there!

Just stopping by to ask for your e-mail address… I’m working with Izzy on the Blogher list and we want to make sure to send you the spreadsheet and let you know about the Thursday night party.
Best,

June 19, 2007 at 12:58 pmRachel Ray frightens me. If the powers that be conspired to create a fembot of the oh-so-bubbly variety, she is what would come out. On occasion, I keep expecting her to creak and need oil like the tin man.
Also, love the fact that the Google links are going hair products on your site. My dreams for your beauty savvy going world wide are in the works!

June 19, 2007 at 6:02 pmHappy Bday DD!
Can’t do vodka since OU/Texas. Too many screwdrivers while underage. Bad combo. No idea how to choose my liquor back then. Stupid.
