Man, I’m riding this hair thing to its death. I’m just a little busier than usual, with Father’s Day being yesterday and D’s birthday tomorrow.
Yesterday, an impromptu mini-block party erupted on our lawn complete with pear vodka. PEAR VODKA, I SAY! Has anyone had the pleasure of sipping on a little pear vodka? My neighbor put the hard sell on me – I’m not usually a flavored vodka drinker, but I finally caved in. And might I say, delicioso! So light and refreshing!
5 hours later, after strollering under the influence to the grocery store, I made rather tasty chipotle blue cheese burgers alá Rachael Ray. (Have I mentioned I’ve bought several of her cookbooks now? Why does she have to be such a good cook? I think I love her.)
Must go create tomorrow’s birthday menu. Oh yeah – if you haven’t sent a photo yet, WHY NOT?

June 18, 2007 at 12:56 pmNever had the pear vodka, but why shouldn’t it be good?
How did the burgers taste?
They tasted sickeningly good.

June 18, 2007 at 1:14 pmFinally, another post. We were getting tired of thinking about your lovely hair.
(personal note — do you remember I had a dream about you several weeks ago where you were combing your hair in my bathroom? And I’ve never even met you! ESP!)
Happy birthday, D.

June 18, 2007 at 2:20 pmI actually went to the Skyy Pear Vodka launch party here in Portland a couple years ago. It was delightful, and not just because of the free drinks (it was the free food too!)

June 18, 2007 at 2:29 pmThat woman has the mouth of a bass. But her food is just too damn good. I have not had pear vodka… but I have had a pear margarita! Those rock, I highly recommend! (The Lazy Dog Cafe has them)

June 18, 2007 at 2:19 pmi’ve officially been banned from creating anything ala rachel ray. and for good reason. a while back she made this asparagus, pesto, pasta thing. sounds ok. WRONG! that and if i hear here say EVOO and trash bowl my mood suddenly turns sour.
oh, and pear BRANDY! yum!!!! (especially when simmered with some fresh fruit and served on a fabulous ice cream)

Um… please share the chipotle bleu cheese burger recipe!
And, of course, happy birthday to D!
Here you go – we omitted the bacon, I think I would have had a heart attack right then and there.

June 18, 2007 at 4:26 pmSounds good but does it still taste like vodka?…Or more like pear? I like the idea of vodka. Swanky, low calorie clear liquor, that whole thing. However, liquor makes me want to gagggggg. Anyway, how fun is inebriated grocery shopping..Love it, used to do it all the time.
It’s a perfect balance of both. I usually drink vodka straight on ice though, so obviously, I don’t have issues with the taste of vodka. ;)

June 18, 2007 at 4:27 pmYes Kami, the blue is mold, but not the kind that grows on your shower stall:)

June 18, 2007 at 4:42 pmMy assistant/friend/partner in crime made me a *wicked* pear vodka and…something that masquerades as healthy, last week. To say that it may be the Elixer of both Life and (near) death is not far from the truth.
