Happy Birthday, Papa

Despite this week’s heartbreaking news, today is a very special day for a very special man that I love to pieces and want to honor. My brilliant father turns 60 years old. To celebrate, Wito has prepared a very special performance.

(He never lets go of those crayons. Never.)

Happy Birthday, Dad! We love you so very much.

Thank you so much for sharing that! He is adorable! I’m impressed that the crayons didn’t get on the curtains, but with a face like that, who would even care if they did.

Oh, they did. In fact, he never releases his unflinching grip on those crayons EVER. We’ve just come to accept it. ;)

Wito is adorable, but — um — where did you get that lamp? I’m looking for two with a silver base and yours might work in the room I’m working on.

(Oh, and happy birthday Whoorl Papa! I do have SOME manners left.)

D isn’t here to confirm, but I’m pretty confident he bought that lamp at a consignment shop or estate sale for $10. I’m telling you, you’ll be hard-pressed to find many mass-produced items in this home. I guess it’s just his way. ;)

A crayon artist AND a singer/musician too? Your sweet boy was at the front of the line when God handed out talent and cuteness.

    Happy Birthday to your dad!

    Dearest whOOrl gOOrl and whOOrlitO,

The greatest delight…hearing that wonderful voice (which hit every note on pitch!) sending his love to his ol’ partner papa…AND…such a wonderful, touching expression from a daughter that means the whOOrled to me…in every way.

Granted 60 years on the planet…surrounded by all that is good in life…HEY! who do I make the checque out to??? OR…God, do you take VISA???

I just know I owe too much to many. Including you…especially you.

THOUGHTS continue to park in my mind of THALON…and Dearest Shana and Rich…just lost, wondering…as if lost without a reason provided.

Calling upon the alarmingly small wisdom I’ve gained from sixty years of driving life’s curves whilst blind-folded…I can say two things to this wonderful young family at this most tragic moment:

Do not look inward for a reason….the reason exists in another place. You will find it years from now.

Shana, you gave Thalon his life, as brief as it may seem to all of us here, it’s still REMAINS the greatest gift of all. You gave him life…and this will never change…and you must keep knowing this…for THALON will be in every good thing you do.

Love is all we must hold…so hold it tightly…and…hey! screw the rest.

    yo, da bishOp

Man, I miss that kid! The kids and I have watched him singing it over and over….and over.

Happy Birthday to Papa. From the comments I have read from him over the years, he seems to be all sorts of wonderful.

That was the sweetest bday song ever! I read the comment that your dad gave and am sitting here in tears…what an amazing way to express thoughts and feelings towards Shauna & her family and about Thalon….I hope to be that wise at 60….your son is a beautiful child, he has an amazing mama and papa and I’m sure the rest of the clan is equally amazing in his life;)
