Susan’s chic pixie is the envy of many, MANY ladies. Check our her coveted product!
My absolute favorite product for short hair is American Crew Fiber; it’s a waxy paste that defines piecey hair without being greasy or heavy. It’s got a matte finish, so it’s really designed for roughing up your pixie cut — I rub a very small pea-sized amount into my palms to warm it up and then pull it through the ends of my hair for definition, or — when my hair is really super short — I rub my hands willy-nilly over my head and then see what happens.
Fiber is a men’s hair product, so it’s designed to leave you looking a little messy, not all smooth and girly, which is why I love it. And it has a light lemony scent that fades quickly and won’t compete with your perfume — also good.
A 3 oz tub of Fiber will run you about $15, but it will truly last forever.

July 8, 2009 at 11:22 amI must get some of this American Crew Fiber! (I’ve been relying on Jonathan’s Dirt when I’m feeling skippy and Bumble and Bumble’s Sumo Wax when I need to pull it together.)

July 8, 2009 at 12:36 pmSo if the American Crew works well for Susan, I’m guessing it works well for the boyfriends and husbands of the world? Love that it’s got a light scent as the bf currently uses some Garnier which is very very floral.
And Susan is of course is rocking this ‘do.

July 8, 2009 at 2:38 pmAww I love all of you girls! Thanks.
The Fiber is truly great, for girls and boys alike (although ironically, my husband uses some girly Pantene stuff on his hair). Angela, I’ll spot you a big glob when we’re in Chicago and you can road test.
Also Whoorl’s title makes me laugh because I keep picturing actual pixies. Who probably really do need product, now that I think about it …

July 29, 2009 at 6:37 amSusan’s excitement about this product was so strong I went and got myself a pixie cut so I could use it! ; )
Seriously, I’d wanted to take the leap for ages but seeing Susan’s great cut pushed me on over and I did it last week. Now I wish I had done it sooner since I’ve taken my hairstyling time down from 30+ every morning to -1 minute.
Thanks for liberating me, Susan! : )
Oh, and the American Crew Fiber is fabulous too!

September 26, 2009 at 7:44 pmI have a very short pixie (very fine hair too) and I just tried the product. I really love it. Better than Jonathan Dirt and J. Beverly Hills Finnasage. I do need hairspray to keep it all in place though. Love Kenra 25. I don’t have to do another thing all day.
