I’m not going to lie – the main reason I watch Gossip Girl every week is to check out Blair Waldorf’s hair and makeup. I can’t help it, y’all! It’s a sickness. (Although, last night’s prom look wasn’t my fave.) However, when I saw the above look on Leighton Meester at a recent event, I was instantly smitten. The rosy pink cheeks! The perfect lipcolor! SMITTEN, I TELL YOU.
The good news? I just found her makeup artist’s step-by-step info for this look at Luxaholics. The bad news? It seems the lip color and gloss he used is discontinued. Drat.
However, Who What Wear recently posted about Meester’s personal lipcolor faves:
When she’s not made-up for the cameras, Meester slicks on a combo of Lancome’s Star Gloss in Siren with MAC Pro’s Longwear Lipcolor, using Boss Brown as a base, with Slave to Pink as a glaze on top. Unfortunately for us (and Meester too!), most of her selections are technically out of stock, but don’t worry, we’ve got the perfect substitutes. First of all, you’ll want to pick up Lancome’s Color Fever Gloss ($25) in Hotness. Then feel free to adulterate it with the classic MAC Pro Longwear Lustre Lipcolor ($21) in Boss Brown (which used to be paired with Slave To Pink in a limited edition combo) and MAC Lustreglass ($14) in Love Nectar.
If you’ll excuse me, I’m off to buy these lipcolors ASAP as I seem to be having a Single White Female moment. Toodles!

May 12, 2009 at 8:38 amMy cousin got married last year and she wore her hair in a half-up style that looked very pretty. Here’s a picture of it. I also wore my hair in a half-up style but, well, it was the 90’s and I wanted to be different which translates to weird which means I had very strange hair. Plus I did it myself which is one regret that I have. Oh well.

May 12, 2009 at 9:52 amThe Laura Mercier products- the concealer and the powder both shown on the luxaholics.com article) are magical. And most concealers and powders, for my perpetually red, oily (re: pores the size of a small crater) skin, tend to be cakey and obvious. But these products work like a dream, and blend very, very well. They’re the kind of products I wish someone had told me about in my 20s while I wasted hundreds of dollars on Prescriptives, Almay, Cover Girl, Origins, etc.

May 12, 2009 at 12:22 pmI also love Blair/Leighton Meester’s hair & makeup. I loved the gold eyeshadow she wore at prom on yesterday’s episode. But I do think she looked better with darker hair, before she got highlights.

May 12, 2009 at 12:27 pmI completely agree, Brista. Her hair was much better sans highlights.
