Dusty Rose Tones with Au Naturale Cosmetics

I think we can all agree that my go-to makeup look involves a bold lip, but when I’m wanting something different, I’m usually drawn to dusty pinks and mauves. Something about that teeny touch of brown makes those traditional pinks/mauves less cutesy and definitely more wearable. In fact, I can’t think of a better color to suit all skin tones, as well as giving the nicest flush to the face.

Today’s look is with the help of Au Naturale cosmetics, and if you’re feeling it, stick around for the great offer I’ve got for ya.

The key shades in this look are as follows:

On my cheeks, I’m wearing The Anywhere Creme Stick in Grapefruit, which is neutral gold-pink. What I love about this shade is the subtle addition of gold to the mix. Nothing glittery or sparkly, though…just a lovely understated sheen that completely perks up the face. I see this as the perfect color for every day, and HELLO, stick form. (You know I love my sticks.)

On my eyes, I did a subtle wash of the Super Fine Powder Eye Shadow in Ballet on my upper and lower lids. Ballet is a soft mauve with lavender undertones. I also added the shade Lace to the inner corner of my eyes.

Now, here’s the deal with the powder eye shadows. I always keep it real here, so I would be remiss if I didn’t talk about the challenges with these shadows. First off, the pigment is fantastic and the colors are great. But the applicator just does not work. As you can see above, the powder is in a rollerball, and there’s just no way to get an even application with this method. I tried rolling it directly on my eyelid which left streaky results, I tried rolling it on my hand first and applying with a brush, and that was just too messy. And two of the colors, I couldn’t even get the product to come out. Total bummer because I love the shades. However, there is a hack. You can pull the rollerball off the container with pliers and then dip your brush directly into the powder. I really hope Au Naturale addresses this issue, though, because the shadows have so much potential!

Okay, moving on to the best part! I am obsessed with the pairing of the Eternity Lipstick in Innocence (a pinkish nude) with the High Lustre Lip Gloss in Passion Fruit, a simplistic dusty pink. (Seen in the photo above.) This is your lips but better amazingness. So incredibly pretty.

Also, my go-to matte nude lip is also by Au Naturale. The su/Stain Matte Lip Stain in On Pointe is, well, on point. It’s a muted ballet shoe blush, and I love it on my lips. Plus, it’s formulated without animal by-products, synthetic preservatives, nanoparticles, gluten, parabens, fillers, dyes or toxins. It’s 100% natural, cruelty-free, vegan and made in the USA.

That’s the thing about Au Naturale. They are clean clean clean. And on top of their incredibly high standards, they are leading the clean beauty revolution, which makes them stand apart. They are both a brand and a cause, the line serving as physical evidence to the consumer that cleaner beauty is possible. The integrity of the line will never be compromised, as it is a pivotal piece in the company’s greater political battle to demand stricter regulation of cosmetic products in the United States. In creating a line of vegan, organic, paraben free & ethical makeup, Au Naturale Cosmetics is opening consumer minds to the importance of transparency & generating demand for continued change.

Right now, Au Naturale is giving an awesome gift with purchase. Spend $50 and receive a free Eternity Lipstick *plus* free shipping. (Sangria and Innocence are my favorite shades.) Um, for a lipstick junkie, it just doesn’t get better than that. (Except that yeah, it kind of does. Use the code whoorl for an additional 15% off. Don’t delay, though! The code is only valid through tomorrow, Tuesday, December 19th.) As always, hit me up with any questions you might have!

Hi Sarah! I love this look on you. That On Pointe lip color is so pretty. Also, wondering if you are wearing the Inika mascara or Perfekt in the top photo—your eyelashes look AMAZING.
