D and I just returned from IKEA and we don’t hate each other. Yes, it’s true. No eye-rolling, loud sighing, complaining or muttering of profanities. The entire time.
Actually, I complained once that my feet were swelling and maybe two or three times that the fumes from the Ristoft and Erslev textiles were possibly halting our unborn child’s development, but all in all, I’m pretty impressed with my behavior.
In other news, D has caught me singing the following songs around the house in the past 24 hours. Some more passionately than others.
Rhythm of the Night – El DeBarge
Don’t Talk to Strangers – Rick Springfield
The Final Countdown – Europe
Who Let The Dogs Out – Baha Men

May 10, 2006 at 7:19 amwow. that’s a HUGE accomplishment. we’ve had some ugly fights in IKEA. and you can ALWAYS find at least a few other couples in the middle of a nasty fight there.

May 10, 2006 at 9:07 amWell, who doesn’t love “Don’t Talk to Strangers”? How about “You gotta love somebody” … it’s late, you gotta love somebody, don’t wait … :)

May 10, 2006 at 9:12 amI actually despise all of those songs and I can’t figure out why in the hell they are residing in my brain.
Ok, I kind of like The Final Countdown…it’s so dramatic and all…

May 10, 2006 at 2:47 pmIs El actually El Debarge’s first name? Or is it supposed to be like “The Debarge”? For some reason I have always wondered that.

May 10, 2006 at 6:43 pmI think I might be the only person who loves Ikea. Their products are so useful and affordable! It’s like a Scandanavian utopia!
The Final Countdown is my ringtone for darrenmclikeshimself. Because not only is it a great song, but it is Gob’s theme song. Though I will say, I get looks from strangers when he calls.
don't call me ma'am
May 12, 2006 at 10:13 pmOh! Final Countdown! I hope you sing the instrumental part at the beginning as loudly as possible!
Duh duh DUH duh… duh duh duh duh duh… duh duh DUH duh…
Sorry. Now you have me singing it!
