A Lululemon Epiphany

I now possess the knowledge as to why Lululemon can charge $98 for a pair of workout pants.

The breathable, 4-way stretch providing support and allowing freedom of movement? Nope.

The waistband inner stash pocket and flat seams? Nah.

The ability to transform your fanny into a work of art?? Negative, Ghost Rider.

The bright red, 100% polypropylene shopping bag that apparently keeps your baby fully engaged for upwards of 45 minutes? YOU BET YOUR ASS.

I bought a pair of Lulu’s nearly 2 years ago and they are still FANTASTIC. Best $100 bucks I ever spent. I even throw them in the dryer (I don’t even know if thats a no-no) and they are still snug and haven’t lost any elasticity. I still haven’t found a cheaper brand that I love as much.

Yay for Lululemon bags being used as children’s toys! My gf and I were talking – it’s her daughters 1st birthday in a month. She decided instead of gifts – if people would like – they could contribute a little cash into her education fund for the future. She figures the boxes gifts come in are usually more entertaining, so why bother? She has enough toys already. Maybe I just need to take over my Lulu bags and fill them with cash? Ha!

Love the video too…she is such a doll. :)

Is there a lululemon outlet in a local outlet mall? I hit the one in Seattle every time we go through. :)

Love (and miss) that baby girl of yours. She’s the sweetest. :)

Unfortunately lulemon doesn’t make clothes in my size because it seems everyone at the gym wears them. I do love Nike DriFit pants though and regularly shop the sales rack at Sports Authority for them.

I recently bought a sports bra from Lulemon – when I was buying a gift card for my trainer – and was really disappointed. My underarmor zip up one is way better at control than the one that supposedly is the most supportive at lulemon. My boyfriend thinks its because all the women we saw in the store either had fake ones or none. I just can’t believe they don’t have a decent bra in the store.

I live in Canada, and lulelemon was recently in the news here because of the lead content in their bags! Don’t know if they’re manufactured differently in the U.S…

Thanks, Sue! That is scary. I looked into it and apparently the shoppers in question were removed from stores in mid-December and replaced with ones made by a different manufacturer. (Thank goodness, as I wasn’t planning on giving my baby a Lululemon lead lunch.)

DAMMIT! I’ve been on the fence about shelling out the 100 bucks, but all these rave reviews have me reconsidering. Sigh.

So Cute!!! I have LOTS of Red lulu bags! Would you like some more? If it makes you feel better your pants will last you a long time – still wearing mine from 4 years ago ;-)

I’ve been a fan of lululemon for years and yes the pants are so worth every penny.

But FYI the company was doing a recall of those bags because of lead content- or something like that.
Such a drag as I use those bags for everything.
I think the new ones they have should be fine now though.

Guess I just have to go and pick up a new pair of yoga pants…
