Hey, it’s Jen!
Natural color is dirty blonde/light brown
Oily condition, must wash every day
Needs a relatively low-maintenance hairstyle
Uses no product
Lots of ponytails
From Jen’s email:
I don’t want to spend more than 15 minutes on my hair, because I simply don’t have that much time to devote to it now that I’m a working mom. If I’m going to keep growing it out, I’d like to be able to pull it back in a ponytail, and I’d like to avoid blunt bangs. Side-swept bangs/layers are OK, however. People have told me I look great with short hair, but my husband loves my hair long. I’m just so … tired.
Oh, girl. I feel you on the tired thing. And did I mention that Jen’s 9-month-old just LOVES to pull her hair by the fistfuls? No wonder she dons ponytails on most occasions.
Jen has successfully rocked several different looks in the past.
Hmmm. First things first. I really like the shorter looks on Jen. Her long brown hair looks lovely, but when I envision her wearing it in a ponytail 75% of the time, I just think she could become really bored with it. She looks downright sexy with cuts shown in the middle and on the right. I don’t think she could go wrong if she revisited either of those styles, but I feel like I’m cheating her without adding some other options into the mix. (It’s going to be hard, though. I love those styles on her!)
What about these options?

Jenna Elfman‘s short, side-parted hairstyle has swoopy bangs and delicate volume at the root. I think this would look great on Jen, although it would be the higher maintenance of the two options. (Yet, with Jen’s naturally straight hair, this style wouldn’t take as much time as some others.)
Josie Bissett‘s low-maintenance look flaunts side-swept fringe and a piecey texture all over. This cut is the best option for what Jen is looking for in a hairstyle (no maintenance, much shorter, toddler-friendly), but I’m telling you, I still love her previous short cut too.
Have I confused you yet? Because I totally am.
Help Jen. (And me!) Which option do you think would fit best into her working mom lifestyle?

I looooved Jen’s short hair style. She should rock it again.

Jen looked awesome with shorter hair. I don’t get this whole “my husband likes long hair better” thing. Shouldn’t husbands want their wives to look– and importantly– FEEL hot, no matter what length their hair?

I vote short!

I vote your previous short cut, too, Jen. It looked HOT on you. If you wanted more of a change though, what about trying the darker brown color with the short cut? (Ooh, I’m excited! now. Also: I totally need a haircut so badly. You are inspiring me to do something fun!)

I like the piecey ‘do on the left, but it seems like it would take longer to style and would need more maintenance cuts.
Jen’s previous short, and hot, cut would probably look better as it grew out. And would be less tempting for baby hands. Of course, I’m no expert.

Gah! I lovelovelove Jen’s chin-length cut, but maybe that’s cause she looks oh-so-sassy in that shot with the red lips and all. If I have to vote for a new look, it’s got to be option 2. What a conundrum!

Jen, I love your short haircut! Very “Michelle Williams looking hot on the cover of Vogue.” I’d keep it shorter now and grow it out during the toddler years!

Love all the options. BUT what color? I would either go blonder blonde, or easier maintence for a mom might be a darker all over? I love the color in the middle pic, with the highlights, but also highlights are harder to maintain…

I’ve seen Jen in person multiple times and definitely know she rocks the shorter ‘do. And you know how I am always saying girls should cut it off. What can I say? I want more for my team.
I voted for option one to appease her husband Roth knowing she will look good with it but secretly hope she will chop it all off again. It looked wicked good.

I like Jen with more blonde in her hair, so my vote would be for the chin length style she has in the middle picture, with some blonde highlights… but honestly, I think she looks great no matter what she does. Obviously, she can pull off quite a range of styles.

I looove the middle picture of Jen! Warm blonde, chin-length locks with sassy red lips = GORGEOUS!!

I voted short hair – holy cow she looks good!
And I agree with Aleks, I hate when husbands are all about the long hair. They can grow their own.

I would choose the no 2 option, it’s something different than she tried before and I see from previous photos that she looks great with short hair :)

Lucky enough to know Jen in person, I’d love to see her with her previous chin length cut. Maybe add some extra highlights for a dramatic change, or if you are feeling especially crazy, go dark.
Can’t wait to see which one she picks!
