A Luxurious Look For Fall by Kjaer Weis

Kjaer Weis Eye Shadow in Pretty Purple, Cream Blush in Abundance, Lipstick in KW Red

When I think about fall hues for makeup looks, I’m always drawn towards richer, lush shades. (And brands.) Let me tell ya, if you love luxury and clean beauty, Kjaer Weis is your best bet. I mean, for the love of all things luxurious, will you look at the packaging?

(If you haven’t actually held a Kjaer Weis compact in your hand, you are in for a treat. Heavy and gorgeous, like little pieces of artwork.)

I have used several of the Kjaer Weis eyeshadows and cream blushes for a few years, but the brand recently debuted a line of lipsticks, of which I’ve fallen hard. Specifically, the shade KW Red, which I’m absolutely obsessed with.

Now you folks know I’m a red lip aficionado, right? I’ve tried them all, and I have to say that this particular lipstick has shot to the top of my list. In fact, I just returned from a weekend trip to New York City, where I wore the lipstick every day and received many, many compliments.

This formulation is a true matte. And what I mean by that is you need to work the lipstick into your lips. This formulation is not a one-swipe affair, as it’s activated by the warmth in your lips. It doesn’t apply super creamy and moist, so if you are looking for that instant gratification/one swipe color, I would pass on this one. It is definitely a velvety finish, yet my lips never feel dry throughout the day. I personally love it because once it’s on, it’s on.

So. If you want a gorgeous shade that stays put all day with very minimal transfer, I cannot recommend this one enough. I could go for hours and hours eating and drinking without this guy budging. And like I said, it’s a true matte. So unbelievably gorgeous, you guys. It is The One for me.

Okay, okay, enough about the lipstick. I tried two other new shades for fall – the eyeshadow in Pretty Purple and the cream blush in Abundance. I adore these two colors – so perfect for cooler weather. The Pretty Purple shade is great for bringing out golden tones in the eyes (brown, hazel, and green-eyed ladies, this one’s for you.) It gives so much depth to the eye without looking too purple.

Abundance blush is a plummy taupe with an iridescent finish. “A rich color that gives cheeks a modern glow.” And I have to agree. This is a shade that I would not usually go for, as I’m almost always drawn to pops of pink and cooler-toned blushes. This shade gives such a warm glow to the skin. On me (see above), it doesn’t pull plum on me, but actually a beautiful bronze. Loving this color.
