The Most Beautiful Silk Maxi Dress

My love for Cuyana blossomed just before leaving for Peru with Krochet Kids. I was looking for a passport cover and stumbled across their simple, lovely line. I ended up purchasing a monogrammed cover, as well as their travel case set, which I adore. (I feel so grown up – before, I was just throw my toiletries into random small bags I accumulated over the past decade.)

Earlier this year, Cuyana introduced more apparel to their line, and when this red silk maxi debuted, I knew it was a piece that I needed in my closet. The dress is lovely – simple and elegant are two adjectives that immediately come to mind, and it really works for so many occasions. Worth every penny, if you ask me.

Cuyana is based on the philosophy of having fewer, better things, which, obviously, is right up my alley. (You definitely should check out their Lean Closet series.) The founders of Cuyana believe in buying only what you truly love. “We believe in style over trends, in quality over quantity, in loving your closet. We believe that fewer, better things lead to a fuller, better life.” Amen to that.

The dress also comes in white and black, for my monochromatic friends. If you get a chance, I highly recommend taking a look at Cuyana’s line – their entire philosophy is spot on.

LOVE this dress! Looks incredibly lightweight and comfortable. And that color is perfect going into fall.

Also, cannot believe an 18 yr old took these photos. Gorgeous.

Thank you, Sarah. And Isn’t it crazy? She’s such a talent! (The first photo in this post was the very first shot she took of me on those steps. Wowza.)

When I first saw this on your IG, I thought it was a model. (duh) You missed your calling ;) And 18?? She has a bright future…

What a lovely dress and lovely sentiment. I recently tried the “does it bring me joy” approach (a la Kondo) in my closet and it was freeing/liberating and so simple. What a great approach to living :)

May I ask your height? I’m 5’4 and wonder if this would need sky-high heels or a hem job!

I’m 5’7″ and was wearing 3-inch heels. So, yes, hemming might be necessary!
