Loving These Beautycounter Lip Sheers

I’ve made some big strides in Operation Clean Up My Makeup Drawer, and there’s no hiding it any longer- I am officially in love with Beautycounter. The company’s mission has completely drawn me in, and I’m passionate about spreading the word about the importance of using safe cosmetics. Currently, I’m using the brand’s eye shadow, blush, bronzer, lip sheers, lip conditioning balm, shampoo and conditioner, , and some skin care items. (You know, uh…just a few things.) The products score a 2 or below on EWG’s Skin Deep website, and they are all fantastic. The color collection is my current obsession, and I received so many emails and questions about it, that I decided to answer them on the blog.

Today I’m talking Lip Sheers. These lipsticks are creamy, lightweight, completely buildable, and the shades are very flattering for every day. (Although, Beautycounter, I’m making a plea to you…please add some vibrant colors to the mix! I would love to see a classic red and punchy fuchsia.) The overall look is creamy, sheer, and beautiful.

Isn’t the packaging lovely?

So, here are what most of the colors look like on.

What do you think? Pretty colors, right? I seem to gravitate towards Petal, Twig, Rose and Plum. I think you should give ’em a try. (Oh! Here’s the shade Scarlet too.)

Here’s the deal – if you are considering buying some of the lip sheers and/or other products, definitely check out the Band of Beauty Member program. It’s only $29/year, and you get some great perks. Beautycounter is sold here, and has a 60-day money-back guarantee. So if the products don’t work for you, just ship ’em back. Questions? Shoot!

Very pretty! I’ve actually found myself gravitating towards sheer lip colors versus my usual matte, in-your-face lipsticks, so this post is in great timing! The Rose and the Twig colors are my favorite, but they all look great on you.

Can’t thank you enough for showing us how the colors look! This is incredibly helpful. I’ve been looking for a lipstick in a good color that also has a low number on the EWG website and I think the Plum color is it!

I agree with Joy–thank you for showing us how the colors look! How moisturizing are the lip sheers? It is super dry here in Colorado and the skin on my lips is flaking off despite my best efforts.

Thanks for the colors, I almost never wear lipstick and I should, because I haven’t really found any good non-toxic colors. I love EWG, and have been both using and supporting the website for many many years…I have a few issues with some of the products I have found. For example, mascara that is low on toxicity, seems to be like black oil on my face in no time at all, and also coverage for foundation/tinted moisturizer doesn’t seem long lasting…any products you would suggest? Also, have you tried Josie Maran’s sunscreen? Like all sunscreens, even less toxic ones, it isn’t perfect, and the new forumulation isn’t as creamy as the last, but this is by far the best I have found. Do you use her products at all? Lots of questions….
