Hydrating Honey Mask

hydrating-honey-mask

Okay, ladies. You know I have this thing for clean, double duty beauty, right? Let’s talk about honey.

Did you know that honey is a natural humectant with antimicrobial properties? Yep. And as a natural humectant, honey attracts and retains moisture, two qualities that can keep skin hydrated and glowing? Yep. Honey has whole body benefits, my friends.

Personally, I love to use honey because it’s an anti-irritant, and is gentle on my sensitive skin. So! Let’s talk about what I do with honey for my skin. I make a hydrating honey mask that’s kind of the best thing ever.

Here’s how you do it. Get your ingredients.

1/4 cup – honey
2 Tablespoons – pomegranate juice
1 handful – pitted cherries
1/4 cup – plain yogurt
1/2 – banana, optional

Blend all the ingredients together. It will look like this.

You will probably want to eat it. Go ahead and sneak a taste – it’s pretty dang good.

After you eat half of it, apply to clean, dry skin. Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes, then remove with damp sponge or a soft facial cloth. Pat dry and apply moisturizer.

Voilá! Fresh, moisturized skin. I’m a fan.

What’s not to love about a breakfast smoothie that’s SUPPOSED to get all over your face?

I didn’t know that honey is a natural humectant with antimicrobial properties, just now. Hey, wouldn’t it be nicer to just eat it? (sweet and yummy). I’m going to try it on my face one of these days. Very nice homemade skin moisturizer. Thanks for sharing it.

What a lovely idea for a facial. We are huge fans of honey! It is found in skincare products made in Japan like the Be the Skin Botanical Nutrition Power LIne. http://blog.peachandlily.com/
