Soft and Pretty Makeup Tutorial

Three cheers for a summer makeup tutorial! Although, I’m not really sure why I call this a “summer” look, when in truth, you can easily wear this year-round.

This is the perfect makeup routine for a natural, glowing, dewy, happy face. (The video automatically plays at a lower resolution, but you can switch to HD using the quality setting on the bottom right.) I hope you enjoy!

I don’t think I could listen to anyone else talk about make-up. You might convert me one of these days.

Okay, that’s one of the highest compliments I think I’ve ever been paid. For reals, Brenda. Thank you! :)

I like it, but I think you should fill in your brows a bit. It would frame your eyes a bit more, and it would look soft with powder.

Thank you this! So fresh and pretty! Will definitely try this soon.

Great tutorial, thanks for putting this up! You look amazing without makeup, no dark circles at all (what’s your secret?!)! What alternative would you recommend instead of the cheek tint? I’m not quick enough for these…

Geraldine, I’ve got the video for you!

It shows how to apply all different kinds of blush, and I also listed my favorite brands/shades in the post. Hope it helps!

Very pretty, but nearly identical products and look to Lisa Eldridge’s video. Seems studied & copied.

I, too, love Lisa Eldridge. I can never thank you enough for introducing me to her with that post you had a while ago. I’m glad to hear you like the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector, I wasn’t sure whether or not I should get it but I think your video has me convinced. Thanks for the tutorial, Sarah!

Really enjoyed this. You’ve become my go-to blogger for beauty products. Glad to see I’m already doing some of this, but can’t wait to try the Becca products.

(Also, how is this is any way similar to a Lisa Eldridge tutorial? Lisa is a professional make up artist; this is an every day look as demonstrated by a NON-professional. Only similarity I see is that they were both done by pretty brunettes!)

Have you watched what I referred to and looked at the products used? Strikingly similar, esp since Lisa’s work has been noted on this blog. only are they similar, many of Lisa’s videos are aimed at an everyday look you can emulate…which was done well here. Maybe it wasn’t inspired by Lisa at all, just coincidence…relax.

Man, Sarah. I really, really enjoy watching any kind of tutorial from you! Really easy to follow and you’re just wonderful. You seem like you’re feeling kinda sad in this video, and I’m guessing it’s because of the house. YOUR house is totally out there, and it will be fantastic. Sorry to get all analytical.

Did you hear about that Becca product from Lisa Eldridge? LOVE. HER.

I haven’t tried it, mostly because I already have oily-prone skin. I often have my own natural shimmer! ;)

The Becca Skin Shimmering Perfector is…epic. (I’m tempted to try Moonstone, the newest color. It’s like Pearl (pale) but is ever-so-slightly a touch warmer. :)

Hi! 1. I cannot wear eyeshadow really either. Seeing your colors here made me remember a gorgeous champagne color I have, which I dug out today and voila, instant refresher. Hooray! 2. I love that you seemed kinda cranky at the beginning. I don’t assume anything, but I wonder if the house situ (then) was bringing you down and 3. I really love it as a reader when you go there, when you show us the cranky or overwhelmed or sad or devastated or neurotic. I love it. It’s real. It’s relatable. Do more of that please. :)
