My Newest Anti Frizz Regimen – Avon Lotus Shield

Well, hello there! Did you miss me?

My two-week Hair Thursday sabbatical was somehow magically stretched into four or five…I obviously had forgotten how quickly time flies with a newborn. (Or how many day-to-day activities you can still attempt while trudging around like a sleep-deprived zombie. Awesome.)

(She turns 6 weeks old tomorrow, by the way. She’s practically a teenager!)

So let’s talk about frizz, shall we? As you can guess, I don’t have a lot of time to spend on my hair right now. My two options as of late are to wash and let my waves air-dry daily or take the time to blow dry straight, which allows me to go 3 to 4 days between shampoos. Summer is just starting here in coastal California, so I’m gearing up for our two hottest, stickiest months.

I’ve written about keratin treatments here, and ultimately that would be a great choice for reducing frizz and decreasing drying time, but keratin treatments aren’t recommended for breastfeeding mothers. Scratch that! What’s a gal to do?

Enter Avon’s newest product, ADVANCE TECHNIQUES Lotus Shield Anti-Frizz Treatment. According to Avon:

Formulated with Lotus Shield Technology, the treatment mimics the effects of the lotus leaf and forms a humidity-resistant barrier on the hair’s surface to control frizz – even at 97% humidity. After just one use of Lotus Shield, frizz is eliminated and hair looks and feels soft, smooth and sleek. After one week of use, hair is more manageable and controlled for up to three days.

This product sounds right up my alley, and better yet, it’s 10 dollars. 10 bones, people! It’s time for me to put this anti-frizz regimen to the the test. I’ll be checking in with you later this week to let you know how things are going. Sound good? Wish me luck!

Will you try both ways-letting your hair air dry and styling it?

I just went ahead and ordered this because you really don’t want to see what my hair has been looking like in this Houston humidity. And I honest to god HAVE been fixing it, I swear. I’m gonna go ahead and relate it to ragamuffin status.

I’m really excited to see how this works out for you as we have similar hair texture (wavy & thick). Lately I’ve been loving Twisted Sista’s Straightening Creme but all the buzz about Lotus Shield is intriguing me. Avon has some rad products for cheap! Have you seen their neck+chest corrector? AWESOME!!
