Wondering…

What is the deal with Weight Watchers? I swear I have read countless entries this week about Weight Watchers. Is it post-holiday diet time? Is the plan THAT good? Sounds like a cult to me.

Hey, I like cults. So I figured what better way to get these remaining pounds (5 now! Not 8! Cardiac Hill!) off. I signed up for WW Online on Sunday and was assigned 19 points per day. And then I realized a Chipotle burrito has 27 points. And then I quit.

The End.

Looks like it’s just me and the hill. Peace.

I work with a lady who also works for Weight Watchers. She has lost about 60 pounds and has kept it off for years. Another lady I work with lost all of her baby weight plus a few more very quickly. I thought about doing the online version because I’m just too damn lazy to make weekly meetings.

It does work, is the annoying thing. I’ve done it off and on for years, but this is my first time on Flex Points vs. the Core Plan, where you can eat unlimited amounts of whatever you want, but with a somewhat limited amount of foods.

I started up again about a month ago after trying to diet and exercise on my own, and I realized that I *like* structure, and I need someone to tell me when to stop eating, otherwise I lie to myself. I LIE, and I keep losing and gaining the same five pounds.

Over the course of the past month, swear to God, I’ve lost nine pounds, and I feel better. I have *cough* almost twenty more to go (TWENTY OH HOLY SHIT), but it’s nice to see the little thing dip down from the all-time high weight.

That’s AWESOME, Jonniker! And I hear ya on the structure part.

I could stand to lose a couple of pounds, but I would rather cart a kid up a hill and eat what I want than be given a set amount of food points per day. Argh! Life is too short to live without cheese burgers, chocolate cake and occasional night of binge drinking.

    True dat. True dat.

I don’t like the small amount of booze they allow.

2 points a jigger?! JIG THIS.

Ya, don’t think I could give up my corona intake.
How many points for sucking on a lime?

Walking up a hill near the OCEAN beats a diet plan anyday.

I’m on it because I don’t want to be a fat bride. B and I decided to get hitched in Vegas and he’s saving for the ring, which I’ll be getting around the end of fall. So, after the OFFICIAL proposal, we’re planning on getting hitched pretty quickly. I’ve picked out the dress and I want my booty to be stunning in it. I love Flex but I have a lot more points that you do Whoorl. That’s cause I’m a bodacious big girl who wants to be a petite dainty girl.

Also, WW worked for me. I lost 40lbs and kept it off for four years. Recently, due to medical problems, that have been resolved, I gained part of it back. Now I’m ready for that excess weight to be donated to an anorexic supermodel.

I started in January and have lost 15 lbs so far. It’s an easy plan to follow and it makes nutritional sense unlike other fad diets. I would not bother with the cost of it if I only had 5 lbs to lose, though. In my opinion, this plan is great for people with serious weight to lose (like me). All you have is an extra 5 lbs? I’m sure cardiac hill and cutting one extra beer, or cookie, or whatever will do the trick.

That’s what I like to hear, Olivia. You’re right about the alcohol- I’d probably lose 10 if I cut it out completely. Alas, I only need to lose 5. Pour me a glass of vino, yo.

HA!! Right on! I’d choose a steep incline over a burrito, definitely.

I went online once and found that the only way to build a Chipotle burrito UNDER 700 calories would be to nix the cheese, sour cream, guac, and meat. Pretty much all the good stuff. And who wants to eat a bowl of rice, beans, and salsa? Not I.

Can Sam and I come walk Cardiac Hill with you? I have TWENTY pounds to go (and that’s just to my target weight – I’m 35 over normal).

Years ago (15 I think) I lost 50lbs on WW. Kept it off for many years (12). J is three, figure that one out ;). I do love WW, but have to admit that I tried the Points thing once and it did nothing for me, I didn’t lose a pound. And I could justify anything into a point. The older program (where you weigh and measure and eat only so many bread, milk, veggies….) seemed to work best for me. Alas, Cardiac hill should do it for you pretty quickly.

I am a Dub Dub Goddess. Not because I’m not, but because I’ve been on it through like seven iterations. Which isn’t hot.

If you want any advice, hit me up offline, yo. And check out http://www.dwlz.com, the real goddess of Weight Watchers points stuff.

I would love to be disciplined enough to do weight watchers but there is just no way in hell. I enjoy food. So, like you, I’ve chosen the no excuses time to get my butt up and exercise instead of complaining about these 6 extra pounds method.

Oh, speaking of, I should probably be enjoying the 65 degree weather outside instead of sitting here glued to the computer screen. Excuse me while I take my 150lb puppy out for a walk…

I don’t like diet plans. I just write down everything I eat– keep track of calories if I am uber-conscientious– and then make sure I exercise away more calories than I take in if I want to lose any weight. It’s worked very well when I want to lose and when I just want to maintain.

I could NEVER say no to a Chipotle burrito. What I can do is only eat half. They fill me up anyway. Besides, then I can still have a margarita, and that’s the most important part anyway, right? Can I get an AMEN?

Oops, I mean… I’d choose a steep incline over GIVING UP a burrito. My bad.

Any why is your site telling me to slow down? I WANT to post a comment every 15 seconds! I’ve been gettng cockblocked all day, until now…
