Hey, you beautiful people! Thanks for all of the comments/suggestions yesterday. As I noted in my comment, you all rock the casbah.
The first half of my day involved sitting on the living room floor eating Santitas tortilla chip-crumbs out of the bag and staring out the window like some confined mental patient. Oh, and how could I forget, listening to “You Needed Me” by Anne Murray (THANKS A LOT, JONNIKER) 14,000 times. The second half consisted of some pumping, some bottle-feeding and some purchasing of formula.
So far today, I’ve breastfed twice because DAMN, I hate pumping. It’s just so boring and monotonous and plodding and monotonous. Did I mention monotonous? I’m even a proud owner of the Easy Expressions Bustier. And if that ain’t sexy, I don’t know what is. Come give momma a big wet kiss, my hands are free ya know…oh wait, you’re bumping into my milk canisters. Game over.
With or without the hot bustier, pumping sucks. Ha! A pun! I’m hilarious! Peeps, I’ll take the pain over pumping any day. Of course, I haven’t been in that much pain while feeding today…it’s that damn the-exact-opposite-of-what-you-complain-or- brag-about-always-happens-blog-thing. So, um yeah, feeding hurts HURTS SO BAD! I can’t TAKE IT!!
Did any of that make sense? I am confusing myself.
Moving along.
Do you know what today is? Wito’s 3-month birthday!
Do you know what tomorrow is? My 2nd wedding anniversary!
Do you know what the next day is? My 32nd birthday!
What’s up with all the 3’s and 2’s? It must be some sort of cryptic sign.

We chose Nestle Good Start with DHA/ARA. Enfamil Lipil was what they fed him in the NICU. We have used it a couple of times in the past month and unfortunately, it backs him up.
I heard that Good Start mimics breastmilk (digestive-wise) the closest and since he will still be breastfeeding 80% of the time, I wanted to keep it as similar as possible.
Shit, who knows though. I haven’t tried it yet. :)

Hey, would you consider posting some pics of your wedding? I love wedding photos and I’ll bet that you and D were one of the most stylin’ brides and grooms in the whole wide world.
I gave Avelyn Good Start today and she didn’t seem to mind it. It smells a lot less like ASS than pretty much every other brand out there.

What formula did you choose? I went with Enfamil Lipil with the DHA & ARA. It’s in a gold canister. We thicken it with a tablespoon of rice cereal to make it a bit more filling and to help Beans keep it down.
Prepare for the change of smell with the formula diapers.

November 4, 2006 at 8:50 pmOh my, that bustier is interesting. I’ve done lots of different formula. We ended up having to do soy with both my girls. I liked Good Start when we were using it but I was all in a tizzy one day about their scoop size compared to other brands.

November 5, 2006 at 10:33 amhi there, Duncan and I had thrush when he was about 5 weeks old and I managed to find a doctor who prescribed Diflucan (the one time tablet you can get for a yeast infection, I know it’s available in Canada and the UK, not sure about the US) and it totally worked for us. Now it’s not actually licensed for nursing mothers, but it is licensed for very young children so it wont hurt a baby to get some through your milk, so the catch is finding a doctor who’s not stuck to the rules. Good luck with whatever you do!
