Proceed with Caution – PMS Ranting Ahead

Things that are bugging the shit out of me today:

1) The little pre-period pimples wreaking havoc on my chin.
2) The fact that my menstrually-bloated ass ripped the lining in my favorite suit pants while bending over this morning.
3) That I am going to a new kick-boxing class tonight where my face will end up looking like this due to my rosacea and heat intolerance. NO PEOPLE, I AM NOT DYING. IN FACT, MY HEART RATE HASN’T EVEN INCREASED. THIS CLASS ISN’T EVEN HARD! I HAVE ROSACEA AND MY FACE GETS RED. NO NEED TO STOP THE CLASS TO MAKE SURE I’M ALRIGHT. Seriously, I am going to make a t-shirt that reads, “Hi, I might look like I am dying, but I am really enjoying this class”, with www.rosacea.org on the back.
4) My job is the most uninspiring loser job on the planet.
5) My husband looking over my shoulder telling me how to improve my pop-up image, and then when I ask him another question, he scoffs at me like he doesn’t have the time. I DIDN’T ASK YOU IN THE FIRST PLACE, BUCKO.
6) My hair looks like ass.

Ok, I think I’m feeling a little better. Anything bugging you today?

Um, your hair NEVER (I repeat never) looks like ass. Think of us, your poor readers, who…though we try and try…will never achieve the same level of hair perfection as you. That shine, that glow, that perfect wave. You are a veritable hair wunderkind!

One thing bothering me today: people who wear their pants too high in the waist and then belt. Bad idea. Never do it.

Can I ever relate! I have eczema and I can’t tell you how tired I am of people 1) asking if I’m Ok, and 2) asking if I just worked out if I’ve been in the sun for oh, maybe 15 minutes. (although I do take Elidel and it’s magical)

I’m sorry, but I think that I am currently wearing the most uninspiring job tiara. (this is not a contest that I want to win, incidentally)

my face does that too! when i took richard simmons class in LA at his Slimmons Studio (it’s ok, you should laugh) i looked like a tomato. people always ask me if i am ok when i am exercising cuz of the red face factor. i feel your pain.

and hey! i had pms earlier this week and am right there with ya. after what you shared on my blog about your job, your job does sound pretty awful. the good news is, you can quit. :)

oh and you should totally get that shirt made. it is hilarious.

I relate in a *big* way about the job thing… Some days it’s all I can do to drag my butt to work in the morning!

FYI, what hopefully is a helpful hint (a friend told me once, and I found it to be true): When you have redness or pinkness on your skin, wearing red or pink highlights that fact… You may want to try offsetting with colors like green or blue. Just an idea, you may find it helps it not to be so noticable… even if only a bit.

Thanks for sharing the rant, helps me to remember I’m not the only one who needs to bitch about stuff sometimes!

Oh Sarah, I know just how you feel! I have the lovely fun and talented Rose A. Cea performing weekly on my face. She loves to pop up and give me a good heckling when I eat anything with tomatoes or chocolate, get too warm, get stressed, or hmmm, just you know — LIVE!

I am totally empathetic to your plight with the redness. Do you get those lovely little (‘scuze me while I say this oh-so-apologetically) pustules too? Yeah, those are so FUN!

Anyway, I think you’re talented, skinny and beautiful and I hope you have a great weekend. :O)

so am i the only one who doesn’t love elidel?? i get eczema break outs on my EYES when i am stressed and it feels good (but so does all cold lotion) but doesn’t seem to do much else. but since it’s my EYES the dr. doesn’t want to give me a steroid…

and at least people assume you’ve been doing something ACTIVE — my eyes are always puffy and black circles and they say “you look tired, are you sick? you should go home” and i want to slap them. [/pms rant]
