11 Beauty Products I Can’t Live Without

It doesn’t have to be ALL hair all of the time around these parts. Take a gander at some of my beloved, tried-and-true beauty products.

1. Kiehl’s Lip Gloss in Goldenberry – First off, I want to eat this stuff straight from the tube. It smells damn good, but more importantly, it’s the perfect ultra-sheer pink with a touch of gold. Kind of like…a GOLDENBERRY! How novel.

2. Sephora Complete Lip Balm – Part of my nighttime OCD ritual involves slathering this perfect balm all over my lips. Love it.

3. Dove Sensitive Skin Face Cloths – Simple, non-scented cloths that gently exfoliate my skin. (Apparently, I’m not the only fan since my local Target is ALWAYS sold out. Bastards.)

4. Neutrogena Anti-Wrinkle Anti-Blemish Lotion – This lotion is a godsend for my mild rosacea. I have NO idea how it gets rid of my redness, given that’s it not specifically formulated for rosacea, but it does. Run, don’t walk, to the nearest drugstore.

5. Redken Blown Away 09 Blow-Dry Gel – If I’m in a blow-drying mood, this gives my hair the perfect amount of flexible hold while completely eliminating frizz.

6. Pureology Real Curl Creme – Most days I’m a wash-n-go girl, and this curl creme defines my waves perfectly. If you are a wavy/curly girl who likes to air-dry, you should definitely try this.

7. Frederic Fekkai Glossing Cream – One word. SHINY.

8. Chanel Blush in Tempting Beige – When a Chanel associate tried to sell this shade to me, I must admit I balked. Beige? BEIGE? Who in the hell besides The Golden Girls wears beige blush? (Um, I DO. And it’s hands-down the most beautiful shade my fair/light skin has ever seen.)

9. GHD IV Styler – Pretty penny, but worth it. Not only does it straighten in a flash, but it renders my curling iron obsolete.

10. Chanel Glossimer in Pagoda – A perfect, your-lips-but-better gloss. Looks downright amazing paired with NARS Dolce Vita lipstick.

11. Amazing Cosmetics Concealer – This stuff isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s a serious concealer and a little goes a LONG way, but it makes my undereye circles disappear completely. I only use a tiny pinprick amount, so the tube should last until 2045.

You know, eleven is such a odd number, don’t you think? We should make it twelve. Tell me the ONE product you couldn’t exist without. Skin, makeup, hair…you name it!

my target was just selling the sensitive cloths on sale – want me to send you some?

do you wash your face after using? i always feel like there’s going to be a residue and that i have to wash my face right after.

it is SO HARD for me to decide what beauty product i can’t live without. does deorderant count? i can’t live without..cetaphil face wash, neutrogena health defense moisturizer with spf (tinted), neutrogena ultra sheer sunblock, glossing cream, frederic fekkai shampoo for colored hair (smells yummers) and always, always OPI cajun shrimp for my toes.

That would be Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil. I have tried others, and they just make me look hypoxic. I love love love this stuff, and would even (and have) drive to *gasp* Queens to get it.

I also love Kiehl’s Goldenberry. My one can’t-live-without is another Kiehl’s lip product: Lip balm SPF 15 in Hue no. 30G. It’s the perfect tint for me, wonderfully moisturizing, not sticky, and with SPF, pretty much the perfect lip balm.

I can’t live without Laura Mercier Flawless Face Kit. (http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml;jsessionid=MYH5WVI5HAWNOCV0KRRQX0Q?id=P214230&categoryId=RPYMAL&shouldPaginate=)

I’m not normally a kit person, but I bought all of these products once before. I especially love the Secret Concealer and Secret Camoflage. Best for covering up litte bitty spidery veins and such. The colors are a bit yellow/orange for many, but for me they work great.

I cannot leave the house without using a dab of the regular formula Clinique All About Eyes gel cream. It immediately makes my eyes look brighter and tighter.

How on earth did I miss this post yesterday?!? HELLO.

Hmmm. Well. What to add? Currently, I love: Kiehl’s gloss in Pink Rider, Chanel gloss in Giggle, Aveeno tinted moisturizer with SPF 30, Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage concealer, Cutler treatment spray, Ahava mineral body lotion and I have also discovered the most amazing hand cream in the history of mankind. It’s J.R. Watkins Shea Butter Body Cream. I have the Aloe & Green Tea scent and it is heavenly. And moisturizing. And all-around fabulous.

Smashbox Soft Lights Tint. When I feel lazy, I use it to give my face a healthy glow, instead of applying concealer, base and blush. I also use it to dress up my look, when I’m trying a little harder.

Love Love LOVE my Chanel blush. Haven’t tried the lip gloss, though, so I may have to check that one out. Is it a sticky one, tho? I can’t handle the sticky lip glosses.

A little off topic – I have mild rosacea and highly reactive, radically intolerant skin that hates hair care products (rashes. Red, reactive rashes.) Do you know how ugly life is with super fine, limp hair and no hair care products? And, alternatively, with red rashes on your neck and jawline?

Do you have any suggestions? I’m putting a call out to the universe on your blog for hair care products that are mild and made for sad sensitive skin cases like me. Help?

Megan, consider checking out http://www.paulaschoice.com. She breaks down why a lot of beauty products aren’t so great and recommends things for super-sensitive folks.

Do you apply the Amazing Cosmetics Concealer with a brush or with fingers? My favorite concealer was discontinued and this sounds nice. Touche Eclat gets a lot of rave reviews too.
