  1. What a great picture!!! Enjoy your summer!

  2. I LOVE Sun Valley. I’ve skiied there many times during the winter and fly fished there a few times over the summer.

If you want a nice relaxing dinner, check out the Roosevelt Grille. Gorgeous setting. Very family friendly (as is the Pioneer Saloon.)

However, if you feel like cutting loose a little bit, head over to Whiskey Jacques. Last time I was there, we ended up pounding pitchers of beer and shots of whiskey with Kevin Costner while listening to an awesome blues band rip it up onstage.

  3. I LOVE Sun Valley!!! I grew up in S. Idaho and that was our playground. I especially love it in summer…The mountains, the fresh air, the small-town vibe full of healthy active people, the awesome food and shops. Don’t you want to live there?!

My girlfriends and I come together from around the country to meet in Sun Valley each summer for our “Mom’s Gone Wild” weekend. I wrote about it here: http://sweetpot8o.blogspot.com/2007/07/emergency-roomor-what-little-i-remember.html

Wait. You DROVE from LA to Sun Valley with a toddler? Are you NUTS, woman??

  4. Oooh, Idaho is one of the six states I’ve yet to visit–can’t wait to get there!

  5. Aaron’s brother’s in-laws have a house there. I’m hoping to enjoy it once they inherit it. Also, want your skirt!

  6. Ooooh, I love your red skirt. I think black tops and red skirts are one of the best combinations ever.

  7. what a cute pic.

Have a great rest of summer, you guys!

  8. Are those not the most comfortable sandals EVER? I also own them and cannot stop wearing them. The cuteness! The comfort! They may be the perfect shoe.

  9. If JCrew’s marketing department has any brains, they will sign up your entire family to model for their next seasonal catalogue.

  10. It’s been so long since I’ve been to Sun Valley. Such a nice place. It’s only 5 hours from me here in Salt Lake. Glad you had fun.

  11. Such a cute picture! Wito is getting so grown up. Have fun!

  12. Looks like you are having a nice time! We leave for Idaho on Monday. :)

  13. Heather Cook says:

I see Wito’s poppin his collar just like his Daddy!

  14. What a little man!

  15. I love this picture. Here’s to vacations of all varieties, amen.

  16. I may be heading up there this winter for a singing engagement and I will be so excited if I end up being able to do it. I’ve wanted to go to Sun Valley for a long time.

  17. What a lovely picture! Enjoy your vacation!

  18. I’ve been dreaming about sandals like yours ever since I saw them at BlogHer. That picture renews my craving. Even though it’s practically September and sandal-buying would not reflect the common sense I don’t have. Oh wait! So it’s fine!

All this to say, I love your sandals. And pretty much everything you wear.

  19. I decided it was fine too, Moose :o) I found the DV “Olive” in black patent and silver, and I was so excited! Zappos had the black and Nordstroms had the silver. Thanks, Whoorl for putting it in your favorite things post! You have an awesome sense of style!

  20. Quick question for you: Do the animal covers on the carseat straps prevent the head of a sleeping toddler from falling forward? Because this http://sweetannarose.blogspot.com/2008/06/fast-asleep.html is not comfortable!

  21. Is Whoorl no more? Sad day!
