Oooh, Oooh! A CONTEST.

I am completely obsessed with Etsy. I admit it.

A couple of weeks ago, I came to the conclusion that I need more earrings in my life. What’s the point of having your ears pierced if you aren’t going to adorn the holes? C’MON, PEOPLE.

So, Etsy and I did our little mating ritual, which resulted in the purchase of several pairs of simple, beautiful earrings. (Simple jewelry lovers UNITE!)

My very favorite pair were handmade by Kate Szabone, and they have become permanent fixtures in my earlobes.

Well, the lovely Kate accidentally printed out duplicate orders and sent me two pairs of these beautiful earrings, and when I emailed about the duplication, she kindly told me to keep them. (SCORE.) And as much as I would like to KEEP THE EARRINGS as backups, I thought it might be nice to share the love with y’all.

Aren’t they perfectly simple? And pretty? Can you not tell because my ears are devouring the entire photo?

These beauties need a loving home. (The new ones, of course. Not the ones in my ears- Whoorl is a proper hygiene advocate.)

So! Leave a comment starting now through midnight EST tonight, and I will randomly choose a winner to be announced tomorrow. Cool? Cool.

And for those people (like me) who need some sort of comment direction, tell me, do you have a free or attached earlobe?

  1. Cassandra says:

Would you believe I have one of each?
Sigh. I remember vividly, in 4th grade, learning about genetics, filling out a questionnaire. Do you have a widow’s peak, can you roll your tongue, etc. Everyone was asking about free or attached ear lobes, I asked. Each person on either side of me gave a different answer.
Then EVERYONE in the class had to see.

I’m still scarred by the whole experience, so clearly I deserve the oh-so-lovely earrings… *fingers crossed*

  2. Oh, my ear lobes are aching for those! :D

I’m bored with boring old silver hoops! :D

  3. OH! I love those earrings! I am excited to wear earrings again, since I wont have any little monkeys trying to rip them off…

Oh, and I am quite “attached” to my ears. :P

  4. Attached and proud. My outer ear also has those ridgy things that my mom calls angel bites. Does anyone know what I’m talking about? There must be a biological term for that.

  5. You have super cute ears!
I heart earrings, my favorite pair I inherited from my grandma. They are lovely but unfortunately/fortunately VERY formal- Trying to figure out if I can wear them when I get married next year.
    And my earlobes? Free!

  6. My lobes are freeeeeeeeeee.

  7. I’ve heard of people who do attachment lobing; you know, co-sleeping with their earlobes at night, carrying them in a sling during the day, but my ears are more a fan of the Free Lobe Movement, which I’m pretty sure dates back to the sixties. Flower lobes, VW jewlry boxes and all that. Make Lobe, Not War is what I say.

  8. I have never commented on a blog before but I think I love these earrings so much, I just have to! They are simple and interesting…

  9. I have the free lobes. Freeeeeeee. (And clearly am not the only one who cannot resist saying it like that.)

  10. I think mine are attached – kinda half ‘n’ half maybe. They are pretty earrings & I’m a huge Etsy addict too. Especially the jewelry.

  11. I have free lobes.

  12. My lobes are free.

Also, does it matter if, um, the earrings aren’t, um, for your ears?

  13. Mine go commando.

  14. My lobes have been free for weeks…just looking for the right match.

  15. I am addicted to buying (everything, but especially) earrings from Etsy.

Um, and I think mine are attached.

  16. Count me in, my fingers are crossed! (and my earlobes, they are free as a bird).

  17. Attached… to those adorable earrings!!

  18. Stacy Lange says:

My first comment to say that my earlopes are FREE! And I would love those earrings.

  19. My lobes are attached and begging for earrings. What a lovely find!

  20. My ears… are.. um… attached? They’re tiny, which limits my earring selection to pretty much hoops. So these would be loverly!

  21. My ears are free, yo.

  22. My lobes are completely unattached and unadorned, just like I like my men!!! LOL

  23. I have free earlobes and an urge to buy those earrings even if I don’t win them! Congratulations on finding beautiful jewelry on Etsy! It takes a lot of work to find something so nice.

  24. I’m all about the free lobing… mine are allowed to flap around to their hearts’ content when I roll down my car windows and cruise down the interstate!

  25. Mine are free as a bird.

  26. uh oh . . .

    i have always felt inadequate because I can’t roll my tongue . . .

now I find that earlobes can be free or attached?? HUH???? Now that I know – I’m gonna want whichever I don’t have!! I have no idea which mine are . . . I mean . . . they are attached to my ear . . .

  27. What cute earrings!

  28. Mine are free and they’d love those earrings!!

  29. I think mine are a little in-between, but more attached then free. You are very sweet to offer such a lovely gift to your readers!

  30. My ear holes yearn for those earrings. Well, if ear holes could actually yearn.

  31. ooooh, a contest! My earlobes, they are free.

  32. Ooh, pretty earrings. I never heard of the difference between free and attached earlobes before. I think mine are attached? I don’t know.

  33. Free as a bird baby!

  34. And those earlobes that have the yearning holes? They are free. Forgot to include that. Sorry.

  35. oooh i am now loving her jewelry. i have my eye on a few things. damn. so much for not shopping today!!

mine are free. kind of makes them sound a tad slutty, no?

  36. attached and proud of it! and those earrings are fabulous :)

  37. Mary Sue says:

I had refused to wear earrings for the last 15 years, except maybe once every two years, because my ear-holes are extra sensitive and often get infected, UNTIL I figured out the magic of dipping the posts in Benadryl Gel or Neosporin before putting them in my ears. No more pain!

I feel like a whole world of cranial decorations has been opened up to me! And at this pivotal accessory time in my life, you should me this website which will allow me to spend hours of my day searching for the right pair.

Or, I could just win the ones you have. :)

  38. I can’t tell if mine are free or attached. I think a hybrid. More free than attached though, I’m pretty sure. I want the earrings!

  39. Love the earrings, love Whoorlie girl!
    FREE lobes.
And, yes, simple jewelry lovers unite in harmony in a beautifully simple world!

  40. totally free lobes baby.

  41. Mine are attached. I don’t want those suckers wandering off on me, you know?

Also, I love etsy, too, but sometimes the sheer amount of stuff on there gets overwhleming. I need a personal etsy shopper to filter through it all for me. You busy? Heh.

  42. mine are free

  43. Brittany says:

Those earrings are beautiful! If I’m randomly chosen, I’ll be able to sport the earrings with whatever haircut I get on Friday after receiving Hair Thursday advice!

  44. brookeraymond says:

my lobes they are free and would love to be adorned with those perfectly simple earrings. I also would love to see what other earrings you bought because we seem to have similar taste in jewelry.

  45. Man, I always thought free earlobes were kinda rare. Not based on these comments. Mine however are attached. And I’m loving those earrings! It’s so rare that I see non-stud earrings I like! (I’m not a big fan of regular hoops and dangly ones can feel so formal…)

  46. LOVE THOSE. Pick me, please!

  47. these are so pretty!

is there such a thing as a mixed earlobe? i guess i would have to say mine is more attached than free… but it’s sorta iffy!

  48. AppleTree says:

    My earlobes need adornment.

  49. Free lobin’ since ’76.

  50. Mine are free!!!

Who are some of your favorites on Etsy? Do tell . . .

  51. Attached earlobes, badly in need of those earrings.

  52. what size are the earrings you purchased? i see she has several sizes for sale.

    Those are the extra-small (3/4-inch).

  53. My ears are free. You earrings are free. I think we have a match!

  54. My lobes are attached and currently unadorned (just sayin’).

  55. Delurking to say I have no idea what a free lobe looks like as opposed to an attached lobe. Is that sad?
Also I love, love, love those earrings and simple jewelry is always the best. I think I am the only woman in the world who argued with her fiancé that she wanted a smaller wedding ring.

  56. attached!

  57. I’m a recent Etsy addict and I’m looking for a new pair of gold hoops as one of mine fell out of my earlobe while I was washing my face yesterday (sob!)

Oh, and I am free. Well, at least reasonably priced.

  58. Ooh, pretty! Here’s my raffle ticket! (But if they’re yellow gold, feel free to take me out of the mix. No can do the yellow gold.) Also, I have attached earlobes.

On another note, Etsy is kind of overwhelming for me. I have no idea where to start, and then I find myself at Ann Taylor or Anthropologie. Some suggestions for people to check out would definitely help take the edge off.

  59. I checked the mirror to confirm: my earlobes are attached. And in need of a good pair of earrings.

  60. Mine are attached and I have never thought about that distinction until today! LOVE the earrings!!

  61. Mine are hangin loose and looking to be beautifully (and simply) adorned:) I’ll cross my fingers.

All this earlobe talk has me singing the song from when I was little about your ears hanging low, wobbling to and fro, tying them in a knot, tying them in a bow, etc etc. Hee – I’ll be hunning it all day!

  62. I have two pretty tiny, attached earlobes.

  63. Oh my gosh! I love them, and if I don’t win, I’m going to be getting them!

  64. Christina says:

Mine are free. And for the love of pete, I am also Etsy-obsessed. It’s a sickness, really.

  65. I love those earrings so much it almost makes me want to pierce my (unattached) earlobes. *gasp*

  66. I have been drooling over kateszabone’s earrings for a while now. (for my attached lobes)

I love maryandjane’s stuff too. I got a pair of those for my birthday. Yay for husbands who shop the links you send:

  67. I have enormous, free earlobes.
    I love those earrings.

  68. free-lobe baby……….
I LOVE etsy too. Guess where I first heard about it?

    HERE. from you.

(pick me pick me pick me pick me)

  69. Nice earrings! Hopefully I’ll win them for my free lobes.

  70. I’m an attached kinda girl… thanks for making me feel like a freak 9th grade biology teacher! I’m also a complicated earring kinda gal, so don’t pick me! :-)

  71. Attached…I wonder if that is one of those inherited genetic traits like having a Widow’s Peak? Hmmmm….

  72. My lobes are attached. But I’m not sure for how long due to the young boy’s interest in fine jewelry!!

  73. Free earlobes over here! I love that you asked that question….when I talk about it, my friends think I’m crazy.

  74. free! Interesting side note-when I got my ears pierced (at 21!) I had to get studs with longer posts because my ears were too fat =)

  75. Please, please pick me!

  76. Attached.

  77. Those are gorgeous and totally my style! I have attached earlobes, but my husband calls them “streamlined”. My whole family teases me about my earlobes because they are nearly non-existant. Just enough room for one pierced hole perfect for dainty earrings.

  78. Free – to be you and me.

  79. Cute! I too adore simple jewelry. Please enter me in the contest.

  80. My lobes are free … free of earrings too waiting for these beauties to adorn them! :-)

  81. LOVE the earings. Love your site :) Oh and my ears are free. :)

  82. Ok, I’m in for the contest! Those earrings are lovely.

  83. Huh, even if I don’t win, I think I’m going to acquire a pair anyway!

I have what I like to call “hanging lobes.” Dave has attached lobes, but clearly hanging lobes are the dominant gene because Asher got them too. Dave is still bitter.

  84. My lobes are free like the wind… and my love for Etsy knows no bounds.

  85. They are beautifully simple, as all life should be! : )
    Mine are free.

  86. Free lobes. Also of note–I have had the same earrings in my ears every day for the past nine years. Every holiday my mother pleads with me to switch them out and wear one of the many pairs she continues to gift me. I have to admit, these are totally cute enough to make me *finally* remove the current pair, which of course pales in comparison to the joy of the potential true winner, my mother.

  87. my ear lobes, like America, are Free!

  88. I’m a free-lober. And I’m a little worried about winning this contest because “The Muse” already commented and while we share the same (fabulous) name, we are different people. I’m sure “The Muse” is a wonderful person, but you should probably pick me.

In closing, please pick me because I love those earrings and you.

You. (and those earrings). Complete. me.

  89. All of my lobes are attached, including my ears and my brain(s). Which, come to think of it, is probably something for which to be thankful.

  90. Free as a bird!

  91. Those are so cute & dainty… and would look perfect on me! Thanks for the giveway.

  92. April Liley says:

My free earlobes love love love those earrings.

  93. I thought mine would be attached from the diagram on wiki but it turns out they’re free! Those are very pretty earrings, Whoorl, and hopefully I’m the lucky winnah!

  94. [Feeling earlobes while typing with one hand]

I believe they are free; free as a bird. And they would love lovely in those simply beautiful earrings.

I second RA above–I love Etsy but never have a clue how you people find all the cool stuff.

  95. Pick me, pick me…

  96. love the earrings and the site-

    THanks :)

  97. Sure, I go to order some and you made them be sold out…way to go! ;)

Now everyone is going to want them!!

  98. My earlobes must be free. Please let them be adorned!

  99. I actually have a free AND an attached earlobe. One of each!

I found this out when I was in high school and the honors biology class did their annual questionnaire about heredity, and the “free or attached” question was one they always asked. The second year we were surveyed, the person covering our classroom looked at me and said, “yours are free,” and wrote it down. I said, “wait a minute, last year they were attached!” Sure enough, they were different.

  100. oh I love Etsy and I must say it’s a good thing it’s blocked from my work or else I wouldn’t get anything done!

  101. I love my free lobes and I love those earrings.

  102. Ooh… pretty pretty!! Pick me!

  103. Oh man, those are some pretty earrings.

  104. My lobes are free to be you and me.

  105. mine are free.
just like those earrings i’m about to score ;)

  106. I love those! I am all about simple and clean. While I love a little sparkle and dangle for a night out, I stick to a pair of diamond studs for the most part.

  107. Mine are free. And those earrings are cute.

  108. My earlobes and me, we are attached at the um, uh, err, ear? Which is I suppose preferable to other forms of attachment…

  109. Free, as free as the wind blows…I could go on, but I think it’s better that I not.

  110. love the earrings…they might just entice this unattached earlobe chic to wear earrings more often

  111. lobey lobey loooooowww
    Love those earrings!

  112. mn michelle says:

I have free lobes and love Etsy. I keep raving about it to everyone and no one else knows what it is! I am currently trying to copy some of the cool things I see there (cute diaper bags, changing pads and ponytail holders), but I am not quite a sewing machine maven quite yet!

  113. LOVE them! And my lobes are unattached….in an attached to my head way. :)

  114. Attached. And very tiny.

  115. I have free lobes. And I love Whoorl!

  116. My earlobes are attached. And small. I have ridiculously small ears. One year for my birthday my husband got me a pair of diamond studs and he apologized profusely about how small they were until I put them on … they didn’t look so small anymore!!

    Hee! Young love!

  117. Free! Mine are FREE!!!

  118. Holy Mother of Sweet Simplicity! I need those earrings!

I believe my lobes are attached. But not weirdly so. And just enough.

  119. I have free earlobes – just the way I like it.

  120. I have free earlobes (and hopefully free earings to go with them)

I’m with you on the simple jewelry – LOVE IT. I prefer to wear the same earings all the time, in fact when I find a pair I love I never take them out – much like my wedding ring, they become a permanet part of me. That is until they start to twist or, um rust. Yes that has happened to me. :(

  121. Attached!

    I’m addicted to ETSY!

  122. Elizabeth says:

Mine are hanging free and low right now! I just know that some new friends would help them out so much!!

  123. Free, thanks much!

  124. Consider me entered.
I don’t feel the need to say anything else (like, about my ear lobes.) :)

  125. I have attached lobes. I need these earrings because two weeks ago I cut my hair off. I wanted to have natural hair instead of chemically relaxed hair. I have not been able to find any cute earrings, although now I will check etsy. Please help me so that my four year old daughter can stop telling me I look like a boy!

  126. They are free! (my earlobes.)

I am in love with Sofia Masri (sofiamasri and poopsie)
    as well as LuckyMeBeads.

    Pick me!

  127. Those are some gorgeous earrings!

Free, no attached. No Free. Augh.

Free but tiny? Attached but fat?

    I have no idea. :D

  128. ~ bridgette ~ says:

My lobes are free! I’m glad to hear of another etsy shopper – glad mostly because I’m an etsy seller ( thought, sadly, not a seller of lovley earrings.

  129. Great, now I love her Etsy store and can’t stop putting things in my cart! Such gorgeous stuff!

  130. Whoa, comments. Comments for earrings.

  131. I love the simplicity of these earrings, how nice of you to offer them. My ears are free to wear these.

  132. My lobes are in love…please enter me. These earrings are perfect and simple!

  133. Mine are Free. You can’t have them though.
    Very cute earrings.

  134. Funny you should ask about my earlobes. They are an ongoing source of conversation around our house as they are free as can be. Jon on the other hand has attached and although his genetic make-up took over when it came to almost all of Charlie’s lovely features the kid was lucky enough to end up with my earlobes. I take great pride in that.

  135. Free as, uh, birds they are. My earlobes I mean.
Sorry – my mommy brain is preventing me from writing coherently.

  136. I have free lobes. The rest of me is quite cheap as well. ;)

  137. I’m freeeee!!!!

BTW, I LOVE these earrings. I too am a “simple earring wearer”.

  138. I just took a look to see if they were still available and they’re SOLD OUT!

  139. I have seriously been looking for some simple earrings like those. I will be definitely checking out her Etsy site!! Thanks!

  140. Would love if you shared your good taste with us with occasional links to favorite Etsy shops. Lovely earrings.

  141. love love love…… your ear….. and the earrings. me me me pick me pick me!

  142. Such funny and witty comments by all your comment-ers rendered me speechless.

    Attached and speechless.

  143. FREE!!! a trait i am very pleased to have passed down to my child.

  144. Just when I had managed to stay away from Etsy for a number of weeks…temptation has reared its ugly head. Grrr. There go my plans to clean out the fishbowl.

My lobes are free, none of that attached mumbo jumbo.

  145. Morgan MacLeod says:

Free… and thanks for sharing another Etsy designer. My bank account doesn’t thank you but my jewelery collection DOES!

  146. Wow, way to make those lurkers show themselves!

They are indeed beautiful in their simplicity, those earrings. So simple, I wonder why I’ve never seen anything like them before.

  147. I am a simple girl at heart…but i still want to look cute!

  148. WOw- super cute and simple.

  149. Oh, those are VERY pretty…and now I’ll need to spend some time exploring that site myself!

My earlobes are free :), free as the wind blows :).

And I happily have two piercings on my right ear and three on my left (the two usual and a cartilage piercing)…so I always need new adornments!

  150. I think you have GREAT taste in jewelry. Thanks for linking to that Etsy site, I think I have some shopping in my future! As an FYI I have big ol’ free earlobes. As always, I love your blog.

  151. OMG, those are so lovely! I’ve got attached lobes… funny never really looked at them until today!!

  152. Free!!!!

  153. oh wow. now you probably got all your blogs back!
    pick me
    pick me

  154. If you’re choosing a winner by creativity, Jeana should win- Hilarious! But if you’re choosing at random, then I should win- Well, hopefully anyway!
And for those of you interested- my earlobes are attached.

  155. attached and thanks for giving the earrings away, they’re beautiful!

  156. My unattached lobes long for those pretty earrings!

  157. Those ARE gorgeous;) my lobes are kinda free kinda attached:) I have never shopped on ETSY but NOW I need to check it OUT!!!

  158. Me lobes be attached.

  159. Elegant and divine.

My earlobes are free but picky. I’m allergic to everything but solid gold which is why I have only one pair of earrings and look with longing on every other unattainable pair in the world.

  160. attatched!

i, too, have had an etsy addiction, from which i thought i was in recovery…til now. the fire has been rekindled!

  161. Melody_NC says:

Oooo, pretty! I’m also free lobing.

  162. Freelober here would love some new earrings!

  163. Free earlobe, and those earrings are great. My odds, however, are not. But my pregnant ears would welcome the prize.

  164. yet another Beth with attached lobes here. Those earrings are cute – I want them!

  165. FREE

  166. wow, look at all the love you’re getting, ms. whoorlie! Love those earrings, and etsy too.

  167. My earlobes are free, and earring addicts (9 holes and counting). But none of my earrings are half as nice as those. So simple and beautiful!

  168. I love to put earrings in my attached to my head earlobes! Count me in!

  169. Love those earings and I just might have to do some Etsy browsing myself for these completely attached lobes of mine!

  170. I liked those earrings so much I went over to buy a pair without even reading the whole post. They are sold out. Pooh.

So even if I don’t win, thanks for the link!

  171. Ooh – those are great earrings!

My earlobes appear to be neither free nor attached – you cannot box them in with your labels. They are unique. And weird, apparently.

  172. attached!

    pretty pretty earings.

  173. Free lobes!

  174. Pretty! I like!

(mine are free or unattached, and that just made me giggle, cause I am 12)

  175. attached!

  176. free

  177. Sooo pretty.

And I guess mine would be attached, but I’m not really sure because I’m going by feel.

  178. I have semi-attached earlobes. They are quite detached but they have some definition.

I love those earrings! And what a good idea to go to Etsy for earrings! It is so simple yet, I haven’t ever thought of it!

    Also, I haven’t a blog so I can’t tell you to read it. :)

  179. I have attached earlobes BUT one of my earlobes is split halfway up since while I was a fetus, the doctors have told my mom, I was leaning against her hipbone. It looks like I had an earring ripped out. I am an ear freak!

  180. My earlobes are free, but small. And they do conveniently have those adornment holes….

  181. Oh, so pretty!

    My earlobes are free!

I have not commented on your blog before, but a contest is definitely worth delurking for.

  182. My earlobes are quite attached.

  183. Katherine says:

My lobes are free and in need of new earrings!

  184. katherine says:

My earlobes are mostly free and they need new earrings!

  185. katherine says:

I’m sorry about the double post, I thought it didn’t go through and I don’t know how to delete the extra one!

  186. My earlobes are tiny and free. I’m kind of obsessed with measuring people’s ears. Don’t ask … There is no good explanation.

  187. i know those earrings have my name on them…
perfectly made for my pretty little attached earlobes.

  188. My lobes are free, and those earrings are darling. I wear the same pair of diamond studs every dang day. How boring am I?

  189. Oh Whoorl, how I love ya. I am a free-lobed curly-haired whoorl-advice-junkie lurker.

  190. Need. Those. Earrings. For my free hanging earlobes. xoxo.

  191. My lobes are free! free the lobes!

  192. my FREE earlobes would love these beauties…

  197. Attached! Love the earrings

  198. Deliciously pretty earrings!

    Free lobes, too!

  199. Ooh ooh pick me!!!

  200. For my cell bio I just took, one of our homework assignments was to figure out such things like if our earlobes are free and attached, then do it with our partner, hubby, or other- then see how the kids would turn out!
(My kids might not be the most attractive in some cases as my hubby and I differ in many areas..eeek!)
I am free-wheeling it by the way :)

  201. More free lobes here that would very much love free earrings!

  202. Megan Olsen says:

Those earrings are gorgeous!! And I have a free earlobe. :)

  203. Oooo, so pretty! And my lobes are free.

  204. My earlobes are free and naked, those sure are purty earings

  205. Attached. Funny, until you asked the question, I never really noticed. I also read in the handy-dandy wiki link you provided that it is a recessive trait – that’s me! blue eyed, attached lobe girl!

  206. My earlobes are attached entirely and I adore those earrings… I went to buy them before reading you entire post and noticed that you’re giving away perhaps the one pair that I would have bought…

  207. Oh man! I saw those and drooled all over myself. Sadly I have this very hard time of actually spending money on myself (though you wouldn’t know it lately!). Love them! And my lobes would look smashing with them dangling from them. :)

  208. Ooh, ooh, I want to win new earrings! I love earrings! And those are super cute. Come to think of it, I may order a pair even if I don’t win.

  209. I clicked on the link to pick up a pair of my own…and they’re all sold out! Great contest, though!

So cute! I would wear them often as well. Ok – go here and waste time. I know you will love it!!

  212. Whoa! There are a LOT of comments here! I really enjoy reading your blog and those earrings are too cute :)

  216. Beautiful earrings! If I don’t, by some random pinch of good luck, win them I think I will have to buy them myself!

  217. I’m free…to do what I want…any old tiiiiime…

  218. I was reading about the earrings, clicked over and went through the etsy site, finished reading your post, and thought, “oooh… a contest.” And then noticed your title. Color me entered. (And delurked.)

  219. I’m sitting here wondering how the H you’re going to manage putting two hundred random names into a hat to choose a winner, so I hope you’ve come up with a more realistic way of doing things. Heehee.

Having said that, I want those earrings. So adorable! Sign me up. :)

(I also second your etsy fixation. For as little as I sell in my etsy store, I sure buy alot.)

  220. (Oh, and my earlobes are free. Sorta forgot that part.)

  221. my earlobes are freeee…free falling… :)

  222. My earlobes are typically free, but being 9 months pregnant at the moment (and seriously swollen and gross), my earlobes are now attached. Or embedded in my head. Or something. Sigh.

BTW, the earrings are very pretty!

  223. My earlobs are unattached and looking for a good time (hope no one else made that joke in the 200+ comments up there).

And I would love to have those earrings and would definitely give them a good home.

    Love your site! :)

  224. Kristina says:

my lobes are halfsies-partly attached and partly not. more attached though, which i attribute to my mother. and thank god for that because my father’s side of the family swing free and, well, let’s just say i like mine just the way they are. anyways, i’m a fairly new reader of yours. i was initially drawn in by the endless photos of beautiful flats and a shared addiction to jcrew, then the cowboy boots and now earrings? hooked for sure.

  225. That’s right, I meant to say “earlobs”.

    Duh, me.

  226. Free as can be and in need of those cute earrings!

  227. Christina says:

Half and half! (Those earrings are amazing!)

  228. I’m attached to my ear lobes, and they’re attached to me! Har, har, har…

  229. Mine are attached, they look like freakin GILLS fergodsake.

  230. Free!

  231. I’m free…free as a bird. Like Free Bird! :)

  232. What pretty earrings, I love simple jewelry, my husband would call it boring, I prefer classic!

  233. I have a free earlobe! And by “free,” I mean “earring-less, and thus available to maximize this contest’s potential.” By which I mean, “PICK ME!”

(I have officially watched too much Clone High. “Let’s go swimming in my pool — and by ‘pool’ I mean ‘bathtub,’ and by ‘swimming’ I mean ‘SEX!'” Brilliant.)

  234. Another Dawn says:

Lovely earrings – I would love to have them.

  235. I’ve been looking for the perfect nipple rings…thanks Whoorl! I didn’t even know anyone on Etsy sold them.

But really, my ears are free and currently naked due to a LACK OF CUTE/SIMPLE EARRINGS!

    Good find!

  236. Love the earrings! Thanks for the contest!

  237. So all I have to do is comment?
I don’t have to give a photo a ridiculous name, complete any complicated calculus problems, or post to my own blog?
Easiest. Contest. Ever. My earlobes thank you.

  238. Wow, I love how simple and sleek those are. I make earrings out of beads and such, but I never thought of just a curving wire.
I would love to win those…

  239. New reader here, and commenting just to tell you how much i love your site, and that i’ve been reading your archives for the past few hours.

  240. Contest is officially over! Phew!

  241. Whoorl, I feel compelled to tell you about my ears in hopes of being the lucky winner of those gorgeous earrings. Hear me out:

When I was three years old, I went on a family trip to visit my great aunt. My great aunt had a Great Dane dog who was not a great playmate. I was attacked by this dog and he managed to bite off my right ear lobe! Most of it was salvageable, meaning it got stitched back on, however, the bottom part of this ear lobe turned black and fell off. I have been missing this part of my ear for twenty years now!

I went through my childhood proud and embarrassed of this strange ear. I loved telling the story, but I hated the comments from people who noticed I had a funny ear but just thought it was a birth defect! My mom didn’t allow me to pierce my ears but I rebelled and did it. For years, I felt like my body wasn’t balanced, and I always wore a ring or bracelet on my right hand to ‘compensate’. I could go from being confident to self-conscious in seconds, depending on how people looked at me and if I interpreted if they were judging me because of this strange ear.

I considered plastic surgery to correct this, but have come to love my ‘flaw’ and would not change it for anything. I would dearly miss having the missing piece of my ear – please send me those gorgeous earrings to adorn my ‘flaw’! I can send pictures, Whoorl!

  242. Jen Gomes says:

I was delurking to attempt to win those beautiful earrings until I realized the contest was over. Oh well, still delurking to say I enjoy reading your site every day. Your son & husband are so handsome, and you are beautiful & have great style! I hope she stocks more of those earrings!

  243. Oh, and my earlobes are free… except the right one is slightly less free than the left one…

  244. Mine are attached . . . but not to the current boring cz studs that have graced them for the whole fourteen months since my daughter was born! Time for this mommy to change things up!
