They&#039;re seed pods of the American Sweetgum tree... someone else also mentioned, too....</description>

		<description>I&#039;m in California too, but in Sacramento. Those are the seed pods of  Liquidambar trees. My parents have a bunch of them in their yard. I think we just called them burrs.</description>
