DOH!

I’m leaving in one hour- heading to Oklahoma for the holidays with Wito by MYSELF. (D is meeting us later.)

I wrote this yesterday and learned lots of good tips.

The one thing I forgot, though? TO CHARGE THE FUCKING DVD BATTERY.

Commence hysterical laughing/crying hybrid.

    I’ve bought far too many batteries/chargers/card readers/etc. in airports and in various vacation destinations. I’m a chronic forgetter.

    use your computer! The portable dvd player is just another item you have to carry. 2 for 1!!

    I second the laptop vote. I couldn’t find the cord for the dvd player the night before our trip to Hawaii (6-ish hours NONSTOP!), and after banging my head against the wall for a couple hours I remembered that I was already taking the laptop. Oops! It turned out to be a good thing because I didn’t have room for the dvd player anyway.

    What? Aside from remembering your confirmation numbers, recharging the DVD battery is the most crucial thing to do! I think the laptop is a good idea.

    Maybe your plane will have one on the seat? (We have those in Canada, do your airlines have them? Maybe?)

    Well at least you’re coming to Oklahoma AFTER the ice storm. I live in Tulsa and I finally got my power back yesterday after being without for 8 days. Major suck.

    There’s a lot to be said for electricity. It’s like the best invention ever.

    Just prepare yourself for the tree devastation here at home. It is so sad driving through our neighborhood. This is going to be a fun Christmas with 16 month olds! Molly wasn’t even sitting up this time last year so she spent most of Christmas in her bumbo or her jumperoo. This year will be tons more fun! Have a wonderful holiday!

    As annoying as it is, I’m going to have to one up ya right now.
    I have to fly from Berlin, Germany to ARIZONA with a toddler on my own!! And yes, he is hyper active! Just thank the lords you are staying within one continent.
    I found a panasonic dvd with an 18 hour battery. thank god. Some planes have charger areas on the plane. Also 2nd the laptop idea. Merry Christmas, Whoorl!

    Most excellent discovery ever for entertaining my toddler on an airplane - Band-aids (character ones). We pack several boxes just for the sole purpose of opening and sticking “fancy stickers” all over him.

    Yeah…good luck with that one. I would cry if we forgot the DVD player or the battery at this age. IT is a life savor! Maybe some parent with a kid on the plane will let wito sit next to him.
