Gilligan & O’Malley Nursing Tanks

26

Once upon a time, I spent a ridonkulous amount of cash on expensive nursing tanks that weren’t even my favorite. (They showed off way too much cleavage and left me feeling a little exposed…but if you’re into that kind of thing, go for it.)

This time around I found these tanks at Target and I LOVE THEM. Good coverage plus super long for lengthy torsos like mine. And the best part? The $16.99 pricetag! I bought three for the cost of one pricey nursing tank. Hello, DEAL. Pair these with rolled-up boyfriend jeans and a cardigan and you are now experiencing my uniform. (It’s still cool here in coastal California, thankyoulordy.)

  1. I tried the Glamourmom nursing tanks when my boy was born and I just could not get into them at all. I didn’t like the feeling of the built in bra and the wishy washy feeling from the band. I’d give these ones a try because the price tag is pretty decent. So, even if I felt that wishy washy band feeling I wouldn’t be in shock from the $$.

Good to know! The Bravados never worked for me anyways, so this would be a great affordable option.

  3. Yup, I had these in every color. Throw in a couple Lansinoh nursing pads, and you’ve got the coverage of a regular bra. I don’t think I wore anything but these for the whole time I was nursing.

  4. I slept in one every single night for 14 months! I had so many that when I went to have a garage sale last month to sell all my baby gear, I had an entire bin full of those Target nursing cami’s. I loved them. Those and LilyPadz…they were awesome. I didn’t like the maxi pad in my bra look of the regular nursing pads. Those LilyPadz are genius. If you don’t have them, you should check them out!
    Best,
    Tina

  5. Oh yes. Wore them daily and under shirts and sweaters (fall baby) and slept in them for a solid 7 months. I think I had like 8 by the time we finished nursing.

I have stopped short of giving them as gifts at baby showers, but I definitely recommend them to EVERY nursing mom. I will buy a ton of them again with the next bambino.

  6. By the way… if you are fitting into your jeans all of two weeks after giving birth I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR IT.

  7. THANK YOU! I have two outrageously expensive nursing tanks that show way too much of the chestal area (of which there’s a lot more of these days.) Ordering NOW.

  9. Yes! I had three and I wore them all the time. I love the length even though I don’t have a long torso. Just made it easier not to show my post partum belly. I got them in XL because nothing else fit my milk filled boobs.

I had at least 3 or 4 of these & LIVED in them when I was nursing. Loved them!

  11. I have one that I bought in the store and ordered 3 more online the other day (thinking while I did that the price was the same as ONE glamormom or bravado tank).
We are on the same wavelength or something :)

  12. i KNOW!!!! I spent way too much on bravado ones before finding these. This time around (I’m 29 wks pg w/#2 now) I will buy half a dozen of these!!

  13. Did you find they’re true to size? I’m a first time mom home with my 15-day old son and haven’t been able to make it to Target yet! I was thinking of ordering online so I was curious how they fit.

  14. Molly, pre-pregnancy I wear a XS or a S, but I took a Medium in the tanks.

YES on the target nursing bras! I’ve been in one of my collection of seven daily for the past 6.5 months! Their sports bra nursing bras are also pretty awesome. (And Molly, I would also go up one size for a decent fit.)

  16. I didn’t like the way the Gilligan & O’Malley Nursing Tanks fit me. I definitely prefer the nursing cami from destination maternity (link below). Unfortunately, they only sell it in black and nude, but that’s OK. I just wear them under the same four dresses over and over again.

  17. all this time i never new target had nursing bras, then three weeks ago i walked past the aisle-i have been paying tons for my bras!

I didn’t use the tanks, but I used g&o’m nursing bras and they were the BEST! I had expensive bras from all kinds of maternity stores (and I was an E cup, so I did have to pay a little more for that size, I think) and they were all terrible- the cut into my skin in weird places, and the straps didn’t stay put, and the cups were still somewhat tight. On a whim at Target, I tried g&o’m and I was able to use DD40 and they fit great and were super affordable. I was hooked. I tell every pregnant woman I know that they must try g&o’m before buying something expensive.

  19. Yeah, I spent a ton on nursing bras at first and then found the ones at Target held up the best. Live and Learn.

  20. I wish I had found some of these in my breast feeding days. Sadly, I never owned a nursing tank. The only ones I could find were in over priced boutiques and ran around $80, which I refused to pay.

I shelled out for a few nursing bras which was a mistake. When summer rolled around, the bras were so high cut and that if I wore a shirt that showed the slightest amount of cleavage my bra would show. There may never be another time in my life when I will be D – DD cup so it was natural to want to show the girls off a tad. I ended up getting some cheap underwire bras from Wal-Mart that I knew I could beat on and could wear with a tank top and not worry about my bra/straps peaking out that lasted me over a year. I wish Canada had Target.

  25. When are we going to get that maternity clothes round-up you promised ages ago? I’m dying over here!

  26. They could stand to hire models with actual boobs, though. Unrealistic much?
