  1. Hey, I have no baby and still have 5 different kinds of lip balm/gloss. You put as many glosses in there as you want. You have to keep your sassy-ness up. Hmmm, at least your phone is smaller?? :)

  2. is that a handy journal that matches your wallet?

  3. i do believe it is. some random lady in cambridge gave it to me.

  4. I like the fact that you carry miniature penny loafers. And a puppet!

    I see Gumball!

  5. So, I totally ripped off your post today, but it was such a good idea and I hadn’t posted in days. My bag is sooo less exciting than yours. I wish I had a frog puppet and baby wipes in my bag.

  6. Is this a find Gumball chase from SAJ? I completely understand with the lip accessories, I usually have five or six myself in the ol’handbag. Though, I would really like your purse…

  7. When you first posted last year, I remember being so jealous of your neat and tidy purse, as I was still carrying my diaper bag (backpack) with me everywhere.

Now it would seem that you have joined the rest of us in having so much to take with you and I have streamlined :). Yes, for another six months I get to carry my streamlined purse with me but then, I will be back to mommy toting backpack.

    Gotta love gumball!

  8. I have those multi-vitamins too! I love the book as well. ;)
At least you carry crap around in style. Nice work.

  9. Hee! I received the same diaper bag as a gift, and fell hopelessly in love with it. I packed it up ever so neatly, and imagined all the fun places I would go, baby and adorable diaper bag in tow.

Then I actually had the baby, and decided that Kate Spade is an evil whore, because the bag does NOT have enough pockets, and is impossible to keep organized. Enter Skip Hop, and the pretty pretty diaper bag now only makes cameos at special occasions.

    It’s not you…it’s the bag!

  10. The odd thing is… once you’re a mom, your bag will always look like that. Oh, sure, the items change a little bit as your child grows. But you’ll still carry a bunch of shit in your bag, because who knows what the little bugger(s) will need.

God help me if I start carrying those pink, chalky peppermint candies that all the grannies used to have in their purses.

  11. Metalia-

I’m cool with the number of pockets, but I hate how it doesn’t fully close at the top. Kate Spade had a baby boy this year- you would think she would create a perfect diaper bag. Oh well…

My Skip Hop is definitely my practical bag, but it’s soooo boring.

  12. that’s so funny, i wrote a post about purses yesterday. i carry a lot of crap, mostly beauty/art related.

man, when i have a baby someday it won’t be pretty *shudder*

  13. i can SO compete with this…i am the queen of cramming an impossible amount of crap into a itty bitty bag…

  14. I can’t believe I’m four for four on your essentials of the day! We have that high chair, the skip hop bag (plus a kate spade, which i never use anymore), the weleda cream, american apparel pants — can’t wait to see what you post next.

  15. having a baby sure does change your life. proof is in the purse. ;)

  16. That is funny! I remember those days well, that the contents of my purse said “mommy” in many ways. When I went from having to carry all the extras to finally being able to get a ‘real’ purse again, I bought the cutest little Coach purse to celebrate. It was wonderful.

    The little shoes are darling!

The one thing that I still won’t be without in my purse is individually packaged hand wipes. One time I went into a public bathroom that was so filthy that just touching the doorknob made me almost ill. Upon running out the door I whipped out a hand wipe and quickly cleaned up my hands. Ewwww. Life savers, I call ‘em.
